DIY chunky wooden shelves

May 16, 2018 by Kim Woodward

Spring and summer seems to kick our DIY home projects into overdrive. Something about the ability to work outside and open windows gets me itching to work on new projects and finish up those we have been ignoring.

The most recent project we finished in our home is something that will be useful all year – for both decor and the added storage it ads to our open living space.

How we baby proof our home without spending a fortune

May 1, 2018 by Kim Woodward

When it comes to baby proofing the house, I take a more laid back approach. I want to keep our kids safe, but I’m also not going to spend thousands of dollars or bubble-wrap the entire house.

It’s all about balance.
With Lucy just on the cusp of crawling, I know it’s time. So Ryan and I have started making some small adjustments to the house to make it more baby-safe. And as she really starts moving, we’ll provide more limits that she needs based on her needs.

New additions to Lucille’s modern floral nursery

April 17, 2018 by Kim Woodward

All the cliches about parenthood are so true. They grow up so fast. It really does feel like I blinked and Lucy turned 6 months old. As she grows, she also gets more and more fun. I truly think every stage is my favorite when it’s happening. Right now, she loves to grab and play […]

4 favorite untraditional egg decorating ideas

March 21, 2018 by Kim Woodward

4 untraditional egg decorating ideas you've never tried

Henry and I love dying Easter eggs. We start early and often decorate dozens and dozens of eggs every spring. It’s just a fun tradition that we both look forward to. And we’ve already tried a few different ways this year.

We have eggs everywhere already. We just bought 54 more eggs yesterday. And they won’t last. All that to say, we are crazy about egg decorating.

So, I thought I’d share a few of our favorites from years’ past – including our newest favorite.

An easy spring mantel and living room tour

March 20, 2018 by Kim Woodward

Easter is less than 2 weeks away and we are officially in full egg-decorating, Bunny-welcoming, spring-loving mode at the Woodwards. You’ve gotta start early to pack it all in, am I right?

Last week, we shared our colorful spring kitchen and dining room. Today, I’m sharing our simple mantel and living room. They provide the perfect springtime feel – with plenty of whimsical touches.

My colorful spring kitchen tour

March 13, 2018 by Kim Woodward

I love a colorful home all year. But there’s something about spring that makes me want to amp it up.

Maybe it’s living in the Midwest. We spend winter covered in white and early spring surrounded by brown. I’m just jonesing for a little burst of color. Yellow daffodils. Pink tulips. A bluebird. SOMETHING already. For goodness sakes.

I can’t control that. But, I can control what’s in my home. And that means plenty of color.
