Our master bedroom addition with classic green board and batten

September 5, 2023 by Kim Woodward

Say hello to our lovely new bedroom. She’s such a beaut.

We have officially been using our new master bedroom addition since February. (Check out my last bedroom addition updates here.) I like to make sure this blog is updated in a timely manner, obviously. I took these photos in February but never got around to sharing them here.

DIY board and batten and classic bathroom upgrades

January 15, 2023 by Kim Woodward

With our new bedroom addition well underway, I wanted to share the updates we made to our downstairs bathroom.

The bathroom will continue to be the main floor bath for daily use, but it will also be the bathroom off our new bedroom. (We have all be sharing the upstairs bathroom and it really hasn’t been bad, but I’m sure this will be great as the kids get older.)

Last year (well, actually, 2021, so two years ago), we decided to make some small updates to the bathroom to make it more our style before the bedroom project was underway.

It was mainly cosmetic upgrades, but we also added some additional storage. It feels so much more finished and “us.”

A fun and family-friendly Christmas holiday home tour

December 21, 2021 by Kim Woodward

Christmas is almost here and we have been enjoying making plenty of holiday memories. This year, we’ve been enjoying our casual, family-friendly Christmas home. I wanted to share a quick tour of our holiday decor.

Easy DIY handpainted brushstroke accent wall

February 17, 2021 by Kim Woodward

While the bones of our basement powder room were completed a few years ago and it’s used regularly (hello, potty training!), I finally gussied it up to make it feel more finished. And my favorite part?

The super simple, totally imperfect DIY handpainted brushstroke accent wall.

In a small bathroom like this, it’s really the only detail you need.

Outdoor farmhouse Christmas decor

December 15, 2020 by Kim Woodward

When we get snow in December, I feel it’s necessary to get photos of the outside of our farmhouse for Christmas. It just looks so much prettier with a dusting of white.

I took these quickly as my kids were playing in the snow. As such, I realized when I got inside that I had a smudge of something on all the photos.

Such is life. It doesn’t bother me enough to retake photos.

The house still looks pretty. I hung wreaths on all the front windows, which is so simple and looks extra festive.

A red and white Christmas mantel

December 11, 2020 by Kim Woodward

I can’t let the season pass without sharing our mantel decor for Christmas. This is one of my favorite spots to change up throughout the year, and during the holidays, I stick with my favorite pops of red.

What can I say? When I like something, I commit.
