A festive holiday home tour

December 1, 2020 by Kim Woodward

If there was ever a year to lean into the festive, jolly and merry, I think 2020 is the year. Like many of you, my family has been hunkered down since March. So, finding a way to make our home feel magical and special in the midst of a pandemic was extra high on my priority list this year.

I’m excited to share part of our festive holiday home tour today with a gaggle of other amazingly talented bloggers on the 2020 A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR. Grab a hot cocoa (with extra whipped cream) and check out all the beautiful homes at the end of this post. It’s the perfect way to start off the month. Loads of inspiration for a lovely holiday home.

But first, I’ll share our festive holiday home tour, including our living room and kitchen. This is the main hub of our home, so it gets the greatest dose of holiday cheer.

Our farmhouse kitchen tour

January 14, 2020 by Kim Woodward

And as I was decorating and tidying up the kitchen, I wanted to share a little tour, following the holiday hubbub. I do tweak our spaces throughout the year for the seasons and holidays, but I don’t go too crazy. I have a few favorite spots to add seasonal touches. Our farmhouse kitchen is one of those places.

So while I have added some fresh winter and Valentine’s Day touches, I think it also feels pretty classic overall – which is just the way I like it.

The easiest way to hang wreaths on windows (and outdoor decor)

December 17, 2019 by Kim Woodward

How to hang wreaths on windows

Our outdoor decor is pretty simple, but it looks extra festive and cheer with a dusting of snow.

My favorite outdoor decorations are the wreaths on the windows. We remove the screens on the front windows to hang. I can fold our windows in so I can hang them from inside. No roof walking for me.

After a few years of trial and error, I have found the very easiest and most secure way to hang them.

Holiday decorating with kids

December 11, 2019 by Kim Woodward

The holiday season is upon us, and that means we are all decking halls, trimming trees, and trying desperately to keep our kids from destroying it all.

That can’t just be me.

Kid-friendly Christmas decor in the living room

December 5, 2019 by Kim Woodward

Next up in our Christmas home tour – our living room. It’s also feeling festive and cozy for the holidays with pops of red and buffalo check. One thing that’s changed in my decor is making it much more comfortable and kid-friendly.

I love a beautiful holiday home, but I also don’t want anything to be too precious.

My kids hang out here with us and play here. I have learned to be realistic and manage my expectations. So this is the area that focuses on fun and cozy touches.

Festive Christmas kitchen decor

December 3, 2019 by Kim Woodward

It’s Christmastime at the Woodwards, and I am loving all the festive touches in our kitchen and home. Any excuse to add more red to my home is okay by me.

If you have been around here any length of time, you know that I am a little bit Christmas obsessed. And if you haven’t been here, welcome to the nut house. (You can check out all of our past holiday decor here.) It has nothing to do with the blog. I just love to decorate all the nooks and crannies for Christmas. Every single little touch makes me smile.
