Happy Friday!
I can’t let the season pass without sharing our mantel decor for Christmas. This is one of my favorite spots to change up throughout the year, and during the holidays, I stick with my favorite pops of red.
What can I say? When I like something, I commit.

Don’t worry. Ryan ensured I took down the stockings while the fireplace was burning. Just took a quick photo because it is so cozy with the fire. But no fire hazards here. Most of the time, it looks more like this.
The quilted stockings were made by me two years ago when Lucy was one. I actually found out I was pregnant with Owen while I was still finishing them so I whipped up another and gave it to Henry for Christmas to announce the pregnancy.
Honestly, Henry was confused. So were the grandparents. It was hilarious. Like an hour later, Henry randomly said, “Wait, there’s going to be another baby?”
I think I’d like to add a cuff on top, but that may never happen. So, I’ll enjoy them as is for now. I love the bright red and white and the varying patterns. It’s homespun and modern feeling.
I picked up the wooden names last Christmas but they came damaged so I didn’t get to use them until now. I went back and forth on whether to put our first names or “mom” and “dad.” What do you do on your stockings?
Above the mantel, I hung a tobacco basket with my favorite wreath. It has a mix of faux greenery, magnolia leaves and red berries. I picked it up locally several years ago. The red foil stars are so simple and make such a huge statement. I hang them from 3M hooks and they fold up for storage. (I think I originally picked them up from TJMaxx, but it’s been many years.)
I picked up this garland at Target this year (along with some matching stems) and it’s a nice match to the wreath. I also strung these amazing battery operated twinkle lights into the wreath and garland. I’m pretty hooked on these lights. They are on a timer, they are battery-operated, and they were only $5!
Going up the stairs, I hung some matching metal prints (I made them and you can download them here) on the tobacco baskets. The stairway stays pretty dark so I’m thinking I should have added some twinkle lights. Maybe next year?
I hope you enjoyed our red and white mantel tour for the holidays!
