How to hide small appliances in the kitchen

It can be really easy to end up with a kitchen overrun by small appliances. Microwaves. Crock Pots. Toasters. Mixers.

Even if you are trying to live with a more minimalist mindset, there can be quite a few oft-used small appliances that can take up valuable real estate in your kitchen.

When we designed our current kitchen, I desperately wanted it all out of sight. Both because I like the aesthetics of cleared countertops and also because it’s easier to keep counters clean when they are not cluttered with tons of stuff.

Enter – the small appliance cabinet.

Much like kids, pets come with plenty of stuff – like toys, beds, blankets, kennels and food. And pet messes can be a challenge, too. In our home, we manage paw prints, shedding, and accidents on a regular basis.

And don’t even get me started on the dog breath.

But it doesn’t have to be impossible to create a beautiful home that is comfortable for your family and your pets. Here are a few ways we have created a pet-friendly home without sacrificing our own personal style.
