Easy patriotic burlap wreath

May 23, 2018 by Kim Woodward

Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner – and if you are new around here, that means I’m currently throwing red, white and blue around the house like confetti.

Oooooo….. confetti. That’s an idea.

I just love all things Americana. There’s something about summer that feels so patriotic, and our farmhouse just begs me to cover it in stars and stripes. As part of 2018’s Red, White and Blue-ing, I’ve also been cleaning and sprucing up the back porch. I thought this large wooden star needed a dose of the grand ol’ flag.

Summer In Style Outdoor Edition: Our comfortable family porch

June 6, 2017 by Kim Woodward

We have officially hit the early summer sweet spot in the Midwest – the approximately two weeks of the year that the weather is perfect – sunny, breezy and beautiful. And since it’s a pretty short time frame for perfection, we’d best enjoy it. And that means we are spending almost all of our waking hours outdoors. Luckily for […]

Six ways we cut down weeds in the garden

May 30, 2017 by Kim Woodward

This year, I’m determined to have gardens that aren’t overtaken by weeds. And this is not something that comes easily to me. Because I get bored and lazy and just let the weeds take over. But while I don’t love to weed, I would sure love beautiful gardens to enjoy. Wouldn’t you? We are about a month into this experiment of […]
