A fall mantel

September 24, 2013 by Kim Woodward

I’m not exactly a party animal.

And by not exactly, I mean I can’t remember the last time I stayed up past 10 p.m. And getting wild means having more than one glass of wine with dinner.

But, since there’s a mantel party in town (aka the It’s Fall Y’all Link Party at Thrifty Decor Chick), I figured I could get my party outfit on and join the fun. While I have yet to get out 99 percent of my fall decorations, I did spruce up the mantel for the party. Consider this putting lipstick on while you are still in yoga pants.Fall mantel1

My $2 boxwood wreath is still looking great. The leaves have dried out but they are still nice and green. The burlap adds great texture.

I feel like this is just fall enough to pass for seasonal decor. Someday, I may get more out of the boxes in the basement, but for now, a few pumpkins and some Indian corn are just enough to make me feel a little fall-like.Fall mantel3

Head over to Thrifty Decor Chick for tons more seasonal inspiration!

I still love the boxwood wreath, and I wish I had a friend with a boxwood plant, lol. Your mantel looks pretty, and I fell like I have to rush home and decorate mine after reading all theses mantel posts!

Your mantel turned out great! I’m jealous of your ambition. I have never been a seasonal decorator. I NEVER change my mantel, but I really really should. I like your simplistic take on it. THAT is something I could do 🙂

I’m incredibly jealous of your mantle (it’s obviously on my dream home list – so one day I can join in with this fun) because it looks awesome! Did you DIY the “W” pumpkin??

I didn’t DIY it. It was a gift, but it was from Hobby Lobby. I saw them this year, too.

With a toddler running around…I’m now feeling the pain of not having a proper mantle! I need to devise some way to have some sort of decorative display that’s more than 2 feet tall, lest I want it dragged all over the house. 🙂 Yours looks lovely!
