Looking for some Valentine’s Day decor inspiration for your home? I’ve got your back. Check out this festive fireplace mantel for a gentle reminder to “love more.”
Do you know what I truly hope happens every time you read this blog? I hope you feel encouraged to create a home truly feels like a haven to you and your family.
That’s it. Really.
There are lots of reasons to nurture and decorate and spend time tailoring your home to your taste. I find great pride in the projects we do in our own home. I love to share ideas and projects and tips. I love beautiful spaces.
But the bottom line is that I want to create a home that’s safe and comfortable for my family. I want to create a home where we can love more. And I know that you want that, too.
I’m realizing more and more – home is just an incredible gift. And as I started putting out Valentine’s Day decor from a small box of items I love, I realized that reminding us of love in a home doesn’t have to be cheesy. (It can be. But it doesn’t have to be.)
Because it’s just another way to feel like we belong. And it’s another way to remind us that love really matters. Loving our home and our family can be displayed in lots of ways.
And regardless of what happens around us, we have control over ourselves. We can control the way to respond to others. And we also have some level of control over our home and family.
We really can love more.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day decor, I go simple.
This banner was free with purchase from one of my favorite local stores. I’m obsessed with it and it’s pretty much become my mantra. The other decorations are all favorites from ghosts of Valentine’s Days past.
And since red is my jam, that new red quilt square art I made for the holidays wasn’t going anywhere. (Check out how different the same piece of art it looks at Christmas.) The “I love our life” sign from Little Red Porch is too cute peeking out from the stairway. It will probably live there all year – but it’s a nice reminder for Valentine’s Day, too.
Maybe I’m overthinking it. But home is my happy place, and it’s the perfect place to feel the love. I’m feeling it, friends.
And I sure hope you’re feeling the love in your home, too.

Free is my favorite. And I love the asymmetrical look you have going on on the mantel!

I so agree with your outlook/philosophy on life and family and love! One question though, I would love to know where you got/how you made the ‘bingo’ style MINE art piece on your mantle. Your home is warm and inviting and there is lots of love going on in it.

I love your blog. It’s one of the few I actually read, vs. just scrolling through to look at the pictures.

Your living room is looking awesome! Love the hints of red. Random thought: I think the quilt square art would make the coolest rug pattern…. something I’ve always wanted to DIY… but the thought of crawling around on my hands and knees… nope! Love seeing that pattern in your home!
