Fa la la la la la la la la. I’m officially in the Christmas spirit, after decking our halls from top to bottom. I’m so excited to be part of the All Things Home Christmas Home Tour this year! I’m one of 30 bloggers sharing our holiday decor this week and I think you will love all the inspiration. (All the links to the homes are included after my tour. Leave yourself some time to enjoy all the fabulous eye candy. There’s also a fabulous giveaway from One Kings Lane at the bottom of the post that you won’t want to miss. Consider it your reward for making it through so many photos.)
To start the tour, Henry wanted to officially welcome you. He cracks me up. He was helping me get everything picture perfect and when I snuck out for a shot of the front door, he opened it up like he was on the cover of Better Homes & Garden. Or MTV Cribs. “Welcome to my (Christmas) crib.”
The front porch
Unfortunately, it was raining the day I worked outside and took these photos, so I didn’t get our outdoor decor finished. But, I did manage to hang the wreath/frame/faux chalkboard and put out a few festive details.
Entryway
This is such a teeny space that it’s hard to get a photo, but I added my favorite 12 Days of Christmas ornaments to a shelf as well as a few other small additions.
Living room
We spend lots of time in this room, so I tried to add lots of small Christmas touches. Henry particularly loves the photos I swapped out on the wall and the red tree. Because I have a one-year-old, there is pretty much nothing that can be broken in the house this year. It puts my mind at ease that Henry can play and check out all the decorations without me having a conniption.
Dining room
I wish I could manage to get a good shot of this room and the tree, but I hope you get the idea. I love that I was able to use a unique color scheme (especially the yellow) and make it feel festive. And almost everything on the silver tree is paper, plastic or pine cone. Which is good, because my son is pretty fascinated by all that sparkle.
Kitchen
I usually display a faux tree in the kitchen, but I picked up a rosemary tree at Home Depot this year at the recommendation of my friend Stephanie. It’s the best. It smells so good and looks great, too. She also inspired me to add the ribbons to my cabinet doors. I am able to display my Christmas dishes and small village on the open shelves.
My storybook stairs from 2012 were destroyed by Hurricane Henry so I re-cut them on the Silhouette this year. I recite The Night Before Christmas with him about 20 times a day now. They’re just that fun.
Henry’s room
And last but certainly not least, the room for my little dictator. We picked up Henry’s tree on Monday (tradition is to pick a tree approximately the same height as he is). We kept it simple with just tiny pennants and a tractor for my John Deere-loving toddler. The Peace on Earth banner was something I’ve been dreaming up for a year. I just didn’t get around to it last year but I love how it turned out!
And that is our little home gussied up for the holidays. I hope you enjoyed the full tour and maybe took away a few ideas for your own space!
And now, you are going to want to check out the other gorgeous spaces. I’m so humbled to be among such talented bloggers sharing their homes this week!

Hey! Guess I am a year behind. LOL! I love some of your holiday decorating ideas. I was wondering about the frame over the fireplace with your name and the large “W”. I am assuming you made it. Do you mind me asking how? I have a framed glass similar to yours and love the idea. I am what I call “sorta kinda, not really crafty” but might be able to get a crafty family member to help me. Anyway, I am so glad I found your site. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Dionne

Hi Kim,
So glad we could be on this tour together! And thanks for sharing all the special touches in your home, it’s really lovely. I am crushing on that silver tree. You have some many nice decorations on it, I’m thinking I need to add more to my own tree!
And super cute tradition about getting a tree the same height as Henry, how fun! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.
Kelly @ View Along the Way says
Whoa, lady! You outdid yourself. It is INCREDIBLE. Your tree is my favorite — it’s a stunner! And your little boy, opening the door to his “crib.” He belongs in BHG.
claire says

Jennifer @ Town and Country Living says

I’m trying to decide what I like most about your house at Christmas, but I like everything! I think I am particularly loving the way you’ve hung ornaments in the entry way, dining room light and especially the mantel. Such a simple concept, but I love how it looks. Oh, and of course, your trees are picture perfect. And don’t even get me started on your little door man!
Kim Woodward says
You are so sweet. Thank you so much for always being such an encouragement to me.
Maryann @ Domestically Speaking says

Hi, I love your home tour!
I am on the tour as well, visiting everyone and yours is one of the most original (if not the most) that I’ve seen. You did a wonderful job!
Kim Woodward says
Wow! Thank you for such kind words. I have really enjoyed “visiting” all the homes.
Janis@All Things Beautiful says
Kim, You have wowed me!!! So many things I love…adorable chalkboards throughout!, those dangling ornaments on shelf, mantle, chandy are so lovely, and your Peace on Earth banner over the map is so clever and made me smile! Love your style!!
Kim Woodward says
Thanks, Janis! It’s been so fun to do new things and enjoy the festivity, so to speak.
Kerryanne @ Shabby Art Boutique says
So much to see and enjoy in this cheerful holiday home. Thank you for a very inspiring Christmas tour.
Kim Woodward says
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Caitlin @ Desert Domicile says
You’ve outdone yourself, Kim! Your home is so gorgeous and festive! I absolutely LOVE your trees (what’s the garland? tulle?) and the ribbon you added to your kitchen cabinets! I might have to steal that idea 😉
Kim Woodward says
That garland is tulle. It’s my favorite Christmas tree trick – makes the tree look so much fuller. I have a load of white tulle that a friend gave me after her wedding.
Kelly @ Corner of Main says
Everything is just beautiful and so festive. I am worried about decorating with hurricane Kevin also! You did a fabulous job!
Kim Woodward says
Toddlers definitely make life more interesting. Surprisingly, Henry hasn’t messed with anything at all (yet). He seems mostly mesmerized by it all.
Yvonne @ StoneGable says
All is Merry And Bright at Henry’s home! I just love what you did with the hanging Christmas balls… so pretty! Your front door is adorable!!!!! I’m going to have to try something like that too!
Kim Woodward says
Thank you so much! That frame has seen some better days, but I love the look of it against the red. Truly appreciate you stopping by!
Meredith says
Wow Kim, your house looks awesome! We’re having our first snow day of the year here in Arkansas, so I’m hoping to get some Christmas decorating done. Your ribbon cabinets in the kitchen and Peace on Earth banner in Henry’s room just made the top of my inspiration list!
Well done, lady!!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thank you so much! A snow day today? Crazy town! We haven’t had one of those yet in Illinois. Hope you get lots of decking the halls done. =)
Katrina says
I love all the Christmas cheer in your home!! I can’t wait to finish up our decor in our house and also decorate Avery’s room. I think its the most fun seeing Christmas in kids rooms love it!!! 🙂
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
I agree Kids rooms are the best. We always had trees in our room growing up and I love continuing that tradition.
Amber @ Wills Casa says
Beautiful! I love the contrast between the red tree in the living room with the blue and yellow tree in the dining room. Henry’s Peace on Earth banner is adorable on his map.
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thanks, Amber! I love that we can mix it up all over the house and go crazy. I’m pretty wild, you know?
daisy says
How could you NOT be in the spirit with all that gorgeous holiday decor! Bang up job, Kim & Henry!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says

Katie Newcomb says
Love love love. My favorite is the ornaments on the fireplace. What a great idea!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thanks! Those were my mom’s ornaments and they always show up somewhere. They’ve been on curtain rods, chandeliers and now the mantel. Love versatile Christmas decor.
Trina @ Let's Just Build a House says
i think the dining room and that tree is my fav…but the peace on earth on henry’s map is the second runner up. so sweet.
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
THose are two of my favorites, too. The Peace on Earth sign came out just like I had hoped. Love it when that happens.
Kenz @ Interiors by Kenz says
What a beautifully festive house! You amaze me! You’re the kind of mom I want to be. I hope I can make the holidays fun for my kids. Haha, but I’m SOOO bad at holiday decor. I STILL haven’t put up our Christmas tree yet, and I don’t know if I even will. I love the “Peace on Earth” in Henry’s room. It’s so cute. You did such a great job from top to bottom!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thank you, friend! I only play super mom on the blog. 😉
Atta Girl Amy says
I love your house, Kim. So fresh and modern, and I particularly love that everything is kid-friendly So important when you have a little one like Henry. (He’s adorable, BTW.)
I loved so many of your projects. Pinned a lot from this post. And your dining room is great; I love the yellow and blue — so unexpected and untraditional, but still very festive.
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Such a sweet comment – thank you for the kind words and encouragement. It’s fun to get out of the box sometimes! That’s the beauty of having multiple trees, right? You can get crazy!
Becca says

Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
I’m pretty obsessed with the stuff. I firmly believe no home should be without it. 😉
Kristi says
Beautiful as usual, Kim! You make me want to deck my halls. Hopefully this weekend!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thanks so much, Kristi! I was rushing to get it all done but I’m happy I can relax and enjoy it. Getting myself a cup of cocoa.
Emily @ DavenportDIY says
Love love love the decorations- and I’m totally stealing the ribbons on the cabinet doors idea. Brilliant!! I struggle trying to find a good place to display our holiday cards and this might be just the ticket- ribbons and then clip the cards to the ribbons. Boom- done. Also, I love the ornaments hanging from your mantle and light fixture- so pretty!!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
That’s what I’m planning to use the ribbons for on the cabinets, too. A great use of space!
Lucy says
What a cute little doorman you have there…:) There is one word that keeps popping into my mind when I’m trying to describe your home and that is HAPPY…it’s so festive and you can see the joy in every corner…xo
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Aw, thank you, Lucy. I must have been thinking “JOY,” too. Because the word showed up all over the house. 😉 I guess there’s lots to be joyful for this Christmas. Thanks for the comment.
michelle@decorandthedog says
Everything is adorable. I especially love your mantel and your rosemary tree. I wanted a rosemary tree this year but nate doesn’t like rosemary. What did I marry? I need to come over and have Henry give me a tour of his pad.
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Nate. Lame.
Henry and I are sort of obsessed with the rosemary tree. Mostly me. I just bring Henry into the picture because he’s cute.
Julia@Cuckoo4Design says
Love all the colors. The yellow and turquoise in your dining room and the reds throughout the rest. So fun, so warm and so inviting! I really enjoyed seeing all the photos!
Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thank you so much! I’m happy that it’s (mostly) done and now we can just enjoy it! Feels pretty festive around these parts.
Katie says
Gorgeous! I love your dining room color scheme and mason jar trees! The peace on earth on the map is such a good touch too! You amaze me.

Kim@NewlyWoodwards says
Thank you! I think the greeter made the tour. But I could be biased.
