Wine bottle bridal shower centerpiece

January 22, 2014 by Kim Woodward

If you have a shower and you want to spend an entire afternoon crafting, I’m totally your girl. My friend Veta is hosting a shower for her sister and I offered to help her make some banners and centerpieces.

The inspiration for the centerpieces she wanted – these DIY wine bottle sets from Beyond the Cork. Veta was able to get two cases of empty wine bottles from a locally-owned wine bar. (Genius, by the way. They told her they toss them every night.) She painted them with flat black spray paint.

Then, I designed the words using my Silhouette software and cut each in white vinyl. I love how they turned out. Modern, clean and chic. And also really versatile. Veta’s planning to add a flower to each bottle. But they look awesome as-is.

And wouldn’t this idea be awesome for other holidays? “Eat, drink and be my Valentine.” Or “Eat, drink and be merry.”Wine bottle bridal shower centerpiece2

Such a clever and simple DIY for centerpieces.

Do you love this as much as I do?

I absolutely love this idea. I would like to make 4 sets for my daughters wedding. Could you share the fonts and the sizes that you used for these bottles. Would like to try to find somebody to make the letters.
    Thank you so much!

Multiply those bottles by 10 & you have my recycle bin. I really really really want a Silhouette machine so I can produce this awesomeness but then I wouldn’t have an excuse to come over & bug you.

Those are adorable! Too bad in Utah wine bars are few and far between… haha! I love the font on the “Eat” bottle!

That’s it. I could never live in Utah. A world without wine bars is no world at all. 😉

Kidding. I could just smuggle it over state lines. Right? Right?

The font is Lobster – it’s one of my favorites.

So cute, nicely done! And genius to ask the wine bar for the bottles – I’m always timid to ask for stuff, but if it’s going in the trash, why not?!!

I’m adding a silhouette to my Christmas list, you’ve convinced me…not a good sign when my list starts in January!

I know! I would have thought that I had to drink all those bottles. (Which… okay?) When she told me she called and asked, I was like, DUH! Of course!
