Tips to prepare for holiday entertaining

December 19, 2017 by Kim Woodward

Get your home ready for the holidays

Will you be entertaining this Christmas?

We host lunch at our home on Christmas Day, which has become one of my most favorite traditions – especially since having kids. We can open gifts at home and then welcome both sets of grandparents and other family members. It’s wonderful.

So as we approach the holidays, I’m all about preparing. Because the more I prepare ahead of time, the better everything runs, the less stressed I feel, and the more I can enjoy the holiday.

Craft and guest space: The barn today

November 21, 2016 by Kim Woodward

Hey, remember that one time we lived in a 320-square-foot barn apartment? Me either. I feel like the time we spent living in a tiny space is sort of like having a newborn. You forget about the details over time. And sometimes, you feel like it never happened at all. It’s all a bit of a haze. […]

Cute as a button art

August 24, 2016 by Kim Woodward

You know those thing you pinned five years ago and then never actually got around to doing? Come on. I know I’m not the only one who pins projects all the time and then doesn’t follow through on 99 percent of them. I think I have five or six button art projects pinned on Pinterest (shameless […]

More anniversary fun (and a few unique gift ideas)

August 12, 2016 by Kim Woodward

Last week, I shared the tablescape we created for my parents’ anniversary party. It was full of photo memories and was such a special way to celebrate 35 years of marriage. Now, I’m back to share a few other ideas to decorate at an anniversary party. (Although I think these ideas would also be great for […]

A customized anniversary tablescape (and how to make a vase out of anything)

August 5, 2016 by Kim Woodward

It was my parents’ 35th Anniversary last weekend and my brother and I wanted to do something special to celebrate. (Spoiler: We went a little over-the-top. But you only celebrate 12,775 days of marriage once.) After talking with my mom and dad, we settled on a dinner at our house with just the family. (Not something […]

How to make a batch of mojitos for a crowd

July 21, 2016 by Kim Woodward

If you are like me, you have mint on your windowsill for one reason and one reason only. Say it with me … MOJITOS. I love myself a mojito, and they are pretty simple to make and enjoy. But since moving into the new house, we’ve been entertaining more than usual. (YAY!) With entertaining comes the […]
