Time for another quick barn update today – the bathroom and Henry’s bedroom. Both are roughly the same size.
The bathroom is really coming together nicely. Just a few things to do with the tub surround and tub faucet. But the outside looks great.
A working light fixture, faucet, shower curtain, and medicine cabinet installed by my dad …

We also hung the shower rod and curtain. (The shower curtain was originally from Pottery Barn, but it was a hand-me-down from Ryan’s mom that I’ve been stowing away for a few years.) The shower curtain was blowing from the open window. There’s actually more space between the toilet and shower than it appears.
It’s such a tiny space that getting great photos is hard. But it’s actually so useful, you don’t really even notice it’s tiny footprint. It really feels more spacious than our current bathroom.

Next to the bathroom is a teeny, tiny bedroom for Henry. It will fit a dresser and a bed. All a toddler needs, am I right?
Part of the space-saving comes from the pocket doors Ryan installed from antique doors. They don’t eat up any floor space and they look great, too.

So that’s our little tour of our bathroom and Henry’s bedroom. Still a few more details to finish, but I am so happy with how everything is coming together.

So cute! I’m curious what the actual dimensions of the rooms are. I’m amazed at how much you’re doing with so little space.
The bedroom is around 5×9. Actually a little less than that. =)
Love the shower curtain! And those pocket doors are amazing!
Love it all and I have to say that I think the pocket doors are my favorite! I always wanted them for our tiny bathrooms.
What a lovely home you all have provided for your family! I am 64 years old and can tell you as long as you have a lot of love, you have enough room! And it sounds to me like you all have tons of it!! Henry’s little space is perfect, your bathroom is lovely and what a terrific kitchen!! I am so impressed with how well you all are planning! Great job…be proud!
Thank you, Lucy! What a very sweet comment to receive. And I love what you say – that with lots of love, you always have enough room. Such sage advice.
Thanks again!
This barn is SO AWESOME!! I love the style. You and Ryan create beautiful spaces. I need you to come over and give me suggestions on my house sometime! 🙂
Hahaha… thanks, Heather. Spending someone else’s money seems like a pretty good idea. 😉
perfect!!! i bet you guys cant wait to move in!
I love the pocket doors, the light fixture, and the vanity under the sink. Everything looks wonderful. Good for you. Henry will love his room.
Aaaand now I need pocket doors, everywhere. The bathroom is so charming! I love the vanity and the shower curtain. Super cute.
I love how functional your space is! Our master bath appears to be about the same size, so I’m feeling inspired to get it more organized. Where is your medicine cabinet from? I love the silver frame.
The light fixture is so perfect for the setting. Henry will be snug as a bug.
Great job, y’all!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Looks super cute and cozy and I’m so jealous about the DIY light for the bathroom!
It looks great, Kim! Love that light fixture in the bath and the pocket doors are great!
Thanks, Dawn! I’m really happy with how it’s coming together.
Adorable! I think I said this before, but Milo’s “room” was a walk in closet in our old house. (it had a window). He loved it 🙂
I love the new shower curtain! (Also, I’m glad you mentioned the wind was blowing it because I’m not even going to use your toilet and yet I was concerned it was a wee bit cramped.)
I really dig the towel bar under the sink. In our condo we had sinks similar to that with large large basin and not much counter space. I think a towel bar underneath might have helped things work a bit better.
The bathroom looks like it gets great light!! I love Henry’s room. People put kids in closets (not in the harmful way like in the we have no space so let me trick up a closet way) and it turns out amazing. Can’t wait to see it with his stuff!
The bathroom is lovely! And, you can tell how spacious it feels even in the photos. Great job! I look forward to seeing Henry’s room all decorated!
Love the great design of the shower curtain. It works perfectly with the tiny bathroom.
Love how that bathroom came together Kim. It looks so good. Love that light fixture. Henry’s room looks great and I can’t wait to see the final touches in here either. That pocket door is awesome!!
Love that bathroom! Can’t wait to see how Henry’s room looks, all set up.
Beautiful. And yup, that’s all a toddler needs! Can’t wait to see Henry’s room all done.
I love all your barn updates. Do you ever watch the show Tiny House Nation? I’m inspired by living small and your blog reminds me of the show. I can’t wait until you guys move in!
I haven’t watched it, but it sounds right up our alley.
You should apply and have them do a tour of your space!
I totally agree with you……….
It’s looking really good so far! I must admit I’m getting really curious to see how the space feels with furniture in it. It’s hard to judge the scale of Henry’s room completely empty!
His room will definitely be the tightest in the entire barn.
that bathroom is adorable! i love the floor and the vanity especially and i love hand me downs!
