Adding a tub to a tiny bathroom

April 11, 2018 by Kim Woodward

Sometimes, home projects escalate quickly.

That’s exactly what happened recently in one of our rental properties. We started with a bathroom that needed a little help.

A past owner had made some questionable renovation decisions and we had been band-aiding them for the past five years. We knew we wanted to make some bathroom changes to make it function better for renters and prevent us from having to constantly make repairs.

A peek at the downstairs bathroom

July 11, 2016 by Kim Woodward

There isn’t a single room in our new house that’s really pulled together and finished. I mean, I’m totally okay with that. Or at least, I understand that I should be okay with that. Baby steps. In truth, I’m doing my best to be content with the process, and giving myself (and Ryan) a little grace […]

A neutral bathroom and sources (so far)

June 22, 2016 by Kim Woodward

I would love to share beautiful, finished, styled photos with you in the new house. But I’ve never done that before. So why would I start now? So instead of worrying that everything in the house needs to be finished before I share, I’m just going to share what’s done to this point. And share all […]

Sconce light fixture tour (bathrooms and bedroom)

May 23, 2016 by Kim Woodward

Now that our sconces are all installed, I thought I’d share all our final choices. Light fixtures take a lot of time to nail down, and they can get very expensive. I ended up choosing things on a budget – but I think they were great choices. Obviously, we are still in a state of […]

Getting a hex tile look (with vinyl)

April 11, 2016 by Kim Woodward

Remember that one time my husband nearly lost his mind over hexagon floor tile? I wanted that hexagon tile so badly in our last house – but in the end, I really hated that floor. Well, we didn’t need to repeat that fiasco. I’ve already professed my love for sheet vinyl – it’s cheap, it’s quick, it’s easy. […]

Inspired: Upstairs bathroom

February 24, 2016 by Kim Woodward

Another week, another bathroom! This time, I’m sharing the ideas and inspiration I’m pulling together for our upstairs bathroom, which is really the main bathroom. For this one, I’m aiming for a classic, timeless look. I really want it to be really warm and neutral. It’s nothing fancy (and everything is 100 percent on a low budget […]
