Candy corn mantel for Halloween

October 24, 2017 by Kim Woodward

Are you one of those people who’s already whizzed past Halloween and Thanksgiving to think about Christmas?

Then, this post isn’t for you.

Because, at the Woodwards, we just realized it’s the week of Halloween. Nobody has costumes. No one has consumed any candy corn or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups..

Behold – our fun and sweet candy corn mantel.

A perfectly girly pinwheel quilt (and a tip to create a matching quilt for existing bedding)

February 22, 2016 by Kim Woodward

I have a little boy (and love him and all the boy stuff that comes with him, for the record). But when I have the chance to make things that are girly, I get a little excited. There’s something pretty fun about pink and flowers and bows and frills. My friend Ashley is having her […]

“Black, white and grey all over” arrows quilt

January 20, 2016 by Kim Woodward

When it comes to baby quilts, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with grey and white. And I also don’t think you can go wrong with polka dots. My college roommate Ali is having her first baby next month. Since she and her husband aren’t finding out the gender before the birth, I […]

A black and white cross quilt

September 8, 2015 by Kim Woodward

I love quilts that come together quickly. And this quilt would have come together quickly if not for an emergency visit to my local sewing shop. But once I got my machine back from repairs, it was good as new and I had this cute little cross quilt within about 4 hours of working time. I made […]

Making lined cafe curtains from large curtain panels

January 12, 2015 by Kim Woodward

As we settle into the barn apartment, I wanted to make some simple curtain panels for the back windows. Privacy isn’t really an issue (since we are nowhere near civilization or other houses). But, the windows get REALLY bright in the morning so a little light blocking action would be great. Not that Henry really ever lets […]

A elephant inspired baby minky blanket

October 10, 2014 by Kim Woodward

My poor sewing machine has been neglected lately, gathering dust in the closet. But, I dusted her off to make this sweet minky blanket for my friend Kellie and her new addition. And it came together in less than an hour. (Forgive the wrinkles, I was in a rush to get it shipped off and […]
