I seriously HATE mice. With a passion. So when Ryan saw the stairs decorated for Halloween, he was more than a little confused.
I explained that I only hate real mice. I like mice of the paper and Mickey variety. Aren’t they so stinkin’ cute?
I don’t usually decorate much for Halloween. But, I’ve been loving these little mice since I spotted them last year by Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chic. (Isn’t she awesome?) When I saw her stairs last year, I stored away that idea cause I knew we could possibly have stairs to decorate next year (this year).
Then, I spotted the mice at Michael’s and used my coupon. Everything comes full circle. Score.
So, if a real mouse shows up, I’ll likely lose my stuff. But, these little fake mice are a-ok.
What do you think of our fake mice? Spooky enough for Halloween?

Kim… you are so amazing! The mice are so stinkin cute. The house looks gorgeous, I am so impressed. You are crazy to say that you are lazy because I am exhausted just looking at your blog!!!! You do so much. Love reading about all of it!
You did such a great job with this! Wish I had the stairs to do this:)
Those are utterly adorable and not spooky at all! I love the little action scene going up the stairs!
I cannot get over your stairs. Your man is VERY talented! Looks perfect for Halloween!
When I came to walk the dogs the other day, I about had a heart attack when I saw them. They really do look cute!
cute! your freshly painted crisp white stairs are perfect for this.
So your the ones that put these up in their houses hehehe….How the heck do you not freak out everytime you catch them out of the corner of your eye? I’d be flipping out. All things small and rodenty make me vommy. But you do have the perfect steps for them. I’d have the same ones if there wasn’t a carpet runner down them. But I’d put silhouettes of bunnies or something. Nice, safe, cute bunnies 😉
So cute! If my stairs were in decent shape I’d do it too.
omg! i love these, they are adorable!
i hate real mice too…i’m getting the shivers just thinking about one running around!
I think they’re cute, and I think you used just the right number. Not too many, not few enough to freak people out and make them wonder if they are real.
Cute! I definitely prefer the paper mice over the living, breathing kind of mice.
Cute!! 🙂
I love the faux mice on your staircase! This year we bought faux crows, my husband hates birds of any kind, so its perfect icky factor to our little bit of Halloween decor
So cute! Your stairs look so nice, crisp, and clean…makes me want to paint ours and get some lil’ mice =)
I actually bought these last year and they were a huge hit at our Halloween party! This year, I decided to use them on our book shelves.
Fun! I wish we had a staircase sometimes, ’cause I keep seeing such cute paint/wallpaper jobs!
Love them!
love it kim!
Cutest rodents I’ve ever seen!
LOL! Isn’t it fun to keep them guessing? Your tiny mice look so cute – so perfect for your new beautiful stairs.
I love these! Too cute and a very simple decoration. Love your blog!
~N~
These are great. I hate mice as well. My parents videotaped me when I was younger crying so loud and saying how I hate mice because I saw one in our garage. Hopefully that video was lost when they moved. 🙂
Small, baby and fake versions of animals can be really adorable! Have you ever seen a picture of a baby skunk? I love your stair mice, and would probably already have invented a whole story about how they are a little family that lives in my stairwell. 🙂
Your stairs are perfect for this!
Haha, they look awesome against the white stairs! Wonder if you’ll confuse a few visitors over the next few weeks 🙂
I think they look great! Boy do I love that stairway… Beautiful!
Lol i looked at this and thought they were a permanent decoration and not temporary festive holiday decor… i was about to say, “Kim, we need to talk” 🙂
Absolutely brilliant! Enjoy your lil’ varmints!
So cute! I really want some of these!! Maybe I’ll use the download version and cut them out… would that be completely crazy?? 🙂
