Spooky stairs

October 12, 2011 by Kim Woodward

I seriously HATE mice. With a passion. So when Ryan saw the stairs decorated for Halloween, he was more than a little confused.

I explained that I only hate real mice. I like mice of the paper and Mickey variety. Aren’t they so stinkin’ cute?

I don’t usually decorate much for Halloween. But, I’ve been loving these little mice since I spotted them last year by Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chic. (Isn’t she awesome?) When I saw her stairs last year, I stored away that idea cause I knew we could possibly have stairs to decorate next year (this year).

Then, I spotted the mice at Michael’s and used my coupon. Everything comes full circle. Score.

So, if a real mouse shows up, I’ll likely lose my stuff. But, these little fake mice are a-ok.

What do you think of our fake mice? Spooky enough for Halloween?

So your the ones that put these up in their houses hehehe….How the heck do you not freak out everytime you catch them out of the corner of your eye? I’d be flipping out. All things small and rodenty make me vommy. But you do have the perfect steps for them. I’d have the same ones if there wasn’t a carpet runner down them. But I’d put silhouettes of bunnies or something. Nice, safe, cute bunnies 😉

I think they’re cute, and I think you used just the right number. Not too many, not few enough to freak people out and make them wonder if they are real.

Cute! I definitely prefer the paper mice over the living, breathing kind of mice.

I love the faux mice on your staircase! This year we bought faux crows, my husband hates birds of any kind, so its perfect icky factor to our little bit of Halloween decor

These are great. I hate mice as well. My parents videotaped me when I was younger crying so loud and saying how I hate mice because I saw one in our garage. Hopefully that video was lost when they moved. 🙂

Small, baby and fake versions of animals can be really adorable! Have you ever seen a picture of a baby skunk? I love your stair mice, and would probably already have invented a whole story about how they are a little family that lives in my stairwell. 🙂
