Quick and easy pizza bread

January 24, 2013 by Kim Woodward

When Ryan and I started dating in high school, we worked together at a farm store. When our Saturday shifts coincided, I always suggested my favorite place for lunch – The Grinders & Spaghetti House. So, we pretty much ate there every single weekend so I could dominate my favorite item on the menu.

Pizza Bread. For $2.99.

I later learned that while Ryan likes Grinder’s, he preferred to NOT eat it every single Saturday. But he liked me so he just went with it. Love that boy.

All this to say that Grinder’s Pizza Bread is my jam.

Then last week I thought to myself, I could at least attempt to make a similar pizza bread myself. And I did. And it was darn good and ridiculously quick. The best part? I can make it on Sundays when Grinder’s is closed. No limits, friends. No limits.

So, here’s how to make your own pizza bread. To tide you over until you visit me and I take you to Grinder’s for the real deal.

Quick and easy pizza bread
Loaf of garlic bread (I found this at Aldi’s with the bread)
Pizza sauce
Sausage (or other toppings)
Mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. The garlic bread is pre-sliced, so split the bread in half and lightly spread pizza sauce on the bread. (Don’t go overboard with this.)

Add toppings and lots of mozzarella cheese.

That’s it. Bake that puppy for about 15 minutes, until the bread is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.

The result is nice, garlicky cheesy bread with a nice crisp. You could even forgo the toppings for a side dish with pasta.

This is definitely going to be a go-to dinner choice for busy weeknights.

What’s your favorite quick and easy meal?

Mmmmmmmm, Grinders. I might need to go there soon.

And also make this. The ingredients are Michelle approved. Well, minus the sausage. Sick. But pepperoni will work splendidly.
