America!

July 4, 2016 by Kim Woodward

Yes. It’s another post about patriotic decor. (I’ve only done this once or twice this year.)

Stop rolling your eyes.

I have a good reason for the post. It’s the 4th of July .

Happy Independence Day, American friends. Happy Monday to everyone else.

And also – I bought this giant (and heavy) barn wood star on Friday and I’m obsessed.

I know you are going to ask, and I bought it locally at My Moon Creations. And it was the only one. And I was going to walk away without it. But it was clearly meant to live here on my mantel so I couldn’t allow anyone else to have it.

I’m generous that way.

I’m not one of those people who thinks patriotic decorations are only for the 4th of July. So I’ll be enjoying this pretty little display through Labor Day, thank you very much.

And maybe, if I’m still feeling it, it will be a very Americana Christmas at the Woodwards.

Anything can happen. It’s ‘Merica.

In other news – we put our bunting outside on the house. (Which you already knew if you follow me on Instagram.)

The bunting looked giant at our old house, and it looks tiny here. So I don’t know what to do with that.

Oh yeah, and I made that pallet flag. But don’t look closely because it’s not done. It doesn’t even have stars.

But America doesn’t care.

To end this purpose-filled post, I’m sharing another decorative pretty. We have volunteer sunflowers and they bloomed this weekend – just in time to fill my dining room pitchers. (Two from IKEA, one from Urban Farmhouse – a gift from my mother-in-law). IMG_8046

It’s a great day for a great day!

Clearly next year you’ll need a GIANT-er bunting ;). Everything looks great!

love the size and scale of the star, looks really good to have something substantial in space above mantle. happy 4th!
