A lovely wedding weekend

September 10, 2013 by Kim Woodward

My friend and little sis from my sorority got married last weekend. I was thrilled to be part of her special day. There’s nothing that makes me feel old faster than realizing I was a freshman in college 11 years ago. But, the fact that I developed wonderful friends like Emily there makes the old age worth it. Because I think friendships get better with time. Just like marriages. (P.S. I love the carnations so much. Those are Emily’s favorite flowers and they made lovely bouquets.)9703728899_e15fdca4ab_z

Emily was truly radiant. She’s gorgeous on a normal day, though, so I wasn’t suprised.Emily Kim Wedding

Of course, due to the fact that I’m awkward and insane, I did snap some shots of the reception hall after we finished setting up. Which I’ll share because I think you’ll drool over it like I did. The space is so stinkin’ pretty.DSC_0040

Yes. The kitchen chalkboard made an appearance. This is her first wedding and I couldn’t be more proud. (Full disclosure: I did not do the gorgeous writing – that was by the very artistic matron of honor Rachel – who also did most of the cool stuff for the shower I shared a while back.)DSC_0047

And it wouldn’t be a blog post without shameless photos of my offspring. He’s wearing a bow tie, for God’s sake. I can’t believe I waited this long to share. (Bow tie from Little Mr. Ties and it is awesome and clips right to the top button of the shirt. Genius,  I tell you.)

And my family. My child, stone-faced. Which is better than every other photo in which he is blurry. Look. He just takes his weddings incredibly seriously, people.

Weddings make me feel very sentimental.

Are you also a wedding lover?
