Do you ever need a reminder to RELAX?

I think the new porch is the perfect place for this subtle reminder.

This was such a quick and easy addition, but I think it makes the whole area look a little more funky.

My cousin has an awesome letter display in her bathroom, and that gave me the urge to try something similar in our home. Then at Michael’s, all of the individual letters were on super clearance. Most were between $2-$4/apiece. (I think I picked up the battery-operated marquee light for more like $8.)

I loved all the unique styles – there were dozens of different looks. I played around with the different options in the letters I needed and landed on a mix of mirror, rusted metal, fabric, paint and wood.

It gives a little punch of color to the wall – and a good reminder about what a porch should be. A place to relax and spend time together.

H-man agrees. (He wanted me to take a picture of him, too. He doesn’t understand the fascination with pictures that don’t include him.)
