Why, hello there, 26.

April 27, 2010 by Kim Woodward

These were on the counter when I got home from work on Friday.

Because it was my birthday. And because life really begins at 26. And, because my husband loves me.

He left the receipt right next to them. I thanked him and told him he left the receipt. He said, “They were a great deal, right?” He makes me laugh.

Birthday weekend was pretty nice. Flowers. Dinner at a nice restaurant with pasta and dessert. Plus, Ryan and his parents gave me an Ipod nano. I think I may be the last living being without one. And, I adore it. Then, I went to IKEA on Sunday.  Which is really a birthday gift in itself. And I gave myself permission to buy whatever I wanted. (It WAS my birthday.)

I came home with (too) many lovely things. (See those divine vases above? IKEA. More about my finds later.) But, not the one thing I really wanted. The weather foiled my plans. Any guesses?

I think that 26 is going to be a good year. A very good year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, K-Lo! Don’t ask me why, but I shall henceforth refer to you as such. Not because you’re a demanding diva (but it’s not too late to start) but b/c you got style. I LOVES those pitcher vases.

And tell that Ryan guy that he makes our hubbies look bad. =]

Hmmm, I wonder what plans of yours got foiled by the weather? Were you planning to come back w/ an Ikea employee strapped to your car roof so he/she can explain how the hell to assemble some of their complicated shiznit?

I’m heading there in a couple weeks with one of my neighbors. Dangerous place to wander around! So many things that beg to come home with you. 🙂

Happy Birthday Kim! Seriously, get on posting the Ikea goods. I wanna see!!!!

Hmmm, if the weather foiled your plans, maybe it was raining. Maybe you wanted to drive home with something on the roof of your car? Ummm, a mattress? I have no idea.

Happy Birthday! Ikea is a celebration of it’s own if you don’t live by one. ha Ours is only a few minutes away so I have to keep myself from wondering over there.

    Happy birthday!

And you’re not going to believe this…but I SAW YOU in Schaumburg! At Woodfield Mall! In the Cheesecake Factory! Too shy to say hello, though. And I was stuffing my face with Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake.

I went to IKEA on Saturday night and let myself buy whatever I wanted and my bathroom got a bit of a makeover. IKEA is heaven!

Happy Birthday, Kim!! Gosh, at just 26, you are making this nearly 28-year-old feel old!

Sooo jealous of your IKEA trip. I’ve never experienced one. I’m pretty sure the IKEA nearest to me is on Mars. I can’t wait to see all your finds!

Happy Birthday Kim!! Such a young pup you are. 😉 The flowers are JUST beautiful….as are the vases. IKEA…how I love thee, let me count the ways. Seriously, is there a way to coerce IKEA corporate to just make the decision to put one in Iowa already? Hope you had a wonderful day!!!
