We were in for quite a surprise yesterday when we had some unexpected visitors. My parents flew in from Phoenix to surprise us for our first couples baby shower this weekend. I wasn’t expecting to see their faces in my living room on Tuesday night, but what a wonderful Tuesday night surprise. I am one happy girl.
There’s just something special about having your parents around for big moments. I really wasn’t expecting them this weekend because we had talked about them coming to later parties to avoid so many costly flights. They really make us (and the baby) feel extra special.
They also brought back fabulous 70-degree weather from Arizona, so mom and I enjoyed a walk on the Mississippi with the pugs.
Mom also brought back Baby Dub’s crib sheets, so I’ll have to share their cuteness with you soon. (I was smitten with some crib sheets from Pottery Barn Kids, but they were backordered online until nearly June and we don’t have a store nearby. Arizona Lainey saved the day!)
I’m feeling quite thankful right now.

Mama and Papa Bear are the cutest things on four legs. I’m so happy they surprised you! There’s nothin like having your mama around when your preg. Even more so afterwards when you can hand over the baby and crawl under the covers for an hour and she’ll be thrilled.

What a wonderful evening with all five of you! I’ve missed you terribly and couldn’t think of a better reason to come and see how that healthy baby boy is progressing in that beautiful round tummy of yours!
