Turn birth announcements into wall decor

November 22, 2017 by Kim Woodward

This week, I’m feeling extra grateful for my little family – especially the two little humans entrusted to our care. I’m also pretty thankful that I managed to get out birth announcements before Lucy goes to college.

Winning, my friends. You gotta be thankful for the little things AND the big things.

Am I right?

I’m a bit of a sucker for printed items like birth announcements. Because Facebook is I wanted to find a card that coordinated with Lucy’s modern floral nursery – because I knew I wanted to hang the announcement in her room for a while (or maybe forever, since I’m not allowing her to grow up).

I love the soft florals in the Floral Laurel 5×7 announcement from Shutterfly – and the design is also a great complement to the colors in her birth photos and her room.

I’m pretty thankful that it’s easy to create a card that looks beautiful – even if I haven’t had more than two consecutive hours of sleep in a while. I even ordered custom stamps with Lucy’s photo – which are such a perfect finishing touch to any cards. My family loves them!

And did I mention you can even have Shutterfly ADDRESS THE ENVELOPES FOR YOU? Yeah. Game changer. I’ll never address my own cards again. (I whited out the addresses, but trust me when I say they were all addressed when they were delivered to my house.)

I made sure to get an extra one for Lucy’s room. I was originally planning to frame it in a shadow box, but I ended up liking it better in the dream catcher. Turn birth announcements into wall decor

I may need to add some additional photos in the dreamcatcher, too. It’s right above the chair where Lucy and I spend lots of time snuggling and nursing. So it’s actually a great spot for max visibility.

I love this little gallery wall in her room. The “hers” embroidery was made by my Grandma Lucille. The “you are strong” artwork and dreamcatcher were both purchased locally at Urban Farmhouse. Turn birth announcements into wall decor

It’s fun to pull items with special meaning together in this space. I guess it’s just another thing to be grateful for.

Thanks to Shutterfly for sponsoring this post and helping us get up to date with photo books.  As always, we don’t post about anything we don’t love. Thank you for supporting NewlyWoodwards sponsors to help make posts like this possible.
