If you know me at all, you know I love a good celebration. But I’m usually the one planning it. I knew that Ryan was up to something for my birthday. But, never in a million years did I expect a surprise party. Never. Seriously, I am still in shock.

He drove us up to my favorite restaurant on Saturday at 11 for lunch. I thought maybe we were meeting my parents. But, when we walked in, many of my closest friends and family were smiling back at me.  I nearly died.

There were my favorite book club gals.

If you know my friend Michelle at Decor and the Dog, count yourself among the lucky ones. She helped Ryan plan and made sure many of my friends made it. She and Nate also made sure we had plenty of pictures. And she didn’t let me in on at all. Sneaky one, this one.

Thank you to all of our friends and family for making my birthday so special. I just couldn’t stop saying, “I cannot BELIEVE this.” And there were happy tears on the way home.

And a big thanks to this guy. I’m keeping him around for the next 30+ years.

      As for Ryan, he totally won the hubby award for the party. He did it even though it’s not his thing at all. Couldn’t have been more touched by the gesture and work he put into it.

    • Right? I think I’ll keep him. (Mostly because I know no one else could handle me. I don’t think the rest of the population is “ready for this jelly” if you know what I mean. )

      (I don’t even know what I mean, so that was a trick question.)
