Super simple Greek dip appetizer

February 13, 2015 by Kim Woodward

I love to be invited to gatherings, but I often freeze when I try to think of a dish to bring. I like to bring savory dishes and appetizers (because baking isn’t my forte), but I don’t have many go-to recipes.

I brought this super duper simple Greek dip to a gathering last week and it was a hit! And I even made a meal out of the leftovers for lunch the next few days.

Anything involving feta, olives and bread are okay by me. I actually had a recipe from Clover Lane pinned for years, and I just made a few modifications.

Simple Greek Dip

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 block feta cheese
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bunch of green onions
  • Kalamata olives
  • Oregano
  • Pepper
  • 1 baguette

Directions:

  1. Pour olive oil into the bottom of a pie pan or platter (just enough to generously cover).
  2. Add diced tomatoes, green onions and sliced olives.
  3. Top with crumbled feta, oregano and pepper.
  4. Serve with sliced fresh bread as a dip. (It’s also great with crackers or pitas.)

MyMixx at Jewel-Osco

This is the second week i’ve been planning my meals and shopping from the new MyMixx app with Jewel-Osco. I loved that I could add ingredients to my shopping list on my phone. Having it all in one place is really convenient.

When I check out, I simply gave the cashier my phone number for the additional savings.

I spent about 20 minutes planning meals and perusing the app for coupons and deals (like the sale on fresh-baked bread for this recipe). And I saved $9 from coupons alone. (And for someone who’s never mastered coupon clipping, I was pretty thrilled with that.)
