It is going to be over 50 degrees in the Midwest today. And only in the Midwest, this means that everyone is wearing shorts and storing away any winter jackets.
It’s just how we do it. It’s a little bit of wishful thinking. But we are also tough and desperately yearning for spring. The Vitamin D deficiency is real, friends.
That means it’s also the perfect time to get some spring wreath inspiration. In addition to my spring wreath, you can also stop by a gaggle of other talented bloggers sharing their wreaths for spring. I love all the ideas. (See them all at the end of the post.)
First up, I’m sharing a fun (and SO SIMPLE) embroidery hoop wreath I actually created last year. But I never officially shared it here. As I got it out of storage this year, I wanted to share it. Because it’s so cheerful, so simple, and so easy to replicate.
I started by using the inner hoop from an embroidery hoop pair. This one is big – about 24 inches across. That gives is a lot of presence.
Wreaths made from embroidery hoops are so customizable – I wanted to stick to something simple, with lots of the hoop showing.
I picked up three bunches of faux tulips and a long faux boxwood garland from Michael’s. I pulled the greenery off the garland and wrapped it tightly around the hoop, securing it with clear fishing line. I used the entire garland, packing it together tightly.
I simply stuck the tulip bundles into the greenery. You could secure with hot glue, if needed. But I thought I may want to swap out the tulips.
The metal family sign was a gift from my mother-in-law from her visit to Magnolia last year. It appears to be floating in the middle of the wreath. I just attached to the door with Command strips.
For the finishing touch, I added a little watering can napkin ring in coordinating yellow. Perfect springtime touch.
It’s so simple, and it makes for a fun group craft. We made them at craft night last year. All my friends had a different take on the hoop wreath.
I think it’s a great addition to our basement door. It adds a little dose of springtime color and cheer. While it may be sunny and warm today in the Midwest, I know we have plenty of gloomy days to come. This wreath helps. A little.
