4 favorite untraditional egg decorating ideas

March 21, 2018 by Kim Woodward

4 untraditional egg decorating ideas you've never tried

Henry and I love dying Easter eggs. We start early and often decorate dozens and dozens of eggs every spring. It’s just a fun tradition that we both look forward to. And we’ve already tried a few different ways this year.

We have eggs everywhere already. We just bought 54 more eggs yesterday. And they won’t last. All that to say, we are crazy about egg decorating.

So, I thought I’d share a few of our favorites from years’ past – including our newest favorite.

An easy spring mantel and living room tour

March 20, 2018 by Kim Woodward

Easter is less than 2 weeks away and we are officially in full egg-decorating, Bunny-welcoming, spring-loving mode at the Woodwards. You’ve gotta start early to pack it all in, am I right?

Last week, we shared our colorful spring kitchen and dining room. Today, I’m sharing our simple mantel and living room. They provide the perfect springtime feel – with plenty of whimsical touches.

My colorful spring kitchen tour

March 13, 2018 by Kim Woodward

I love a colorful home all year. But there’s something about spring that makes me want to amp it up.

Maybe it’s living in the Midwest. We spend winter covered in white and early spring surrounded by brown. I’m just jonesing for a little burst of color. Yellow daffodils. Pink tulips. A bluebird. SOMETHING already. For goodness sakes.

I can’t control that. But, I can control what’s in my home. And that means plenty of color.

Spring tulip wreath from an embroidery hoop

February 27, 2018 by Kim Woodward

Simple spring tulip wreath with embroidery hoop

It is going to be over 50 degrees in the Midwest today. And only in the Midwest, this means that everyone is wearing shorts and storing away any winter jackets.

It’s just how we do it. It’s a little bit of wishful thinking. But we are also tough and desperately yearning for spring. The Vitamin D deficiency is real, friends.

That means it’s also the perfect time to get some spring wreath inspiration. In addition to my spring wreath, you can also stop by a gaggle of other talented bloggers sharing their wreaths for spring. I love all the ideas. (See them all at the end of the post.)

I don’t care what that silly groundhog says … spring is coming.

I’ve been slowly adjusting our home from winter to spring – and I’m excited to be sharing a fun tutorial to make simple giant paper flowers for your spring home. These are great for this time of year, but they also make a beautiful statement all year – for nurseries, bedrooms, playrooms and PARTIES.
