Simply pretty

September 23, 2010 by Kim Woodward

I was planning to do the next weekly renovation progress report today. But, my camera cord is MIA, and what good is a progress report without pictures?

So, here’s something pretty to look at.

(Name is Grace)

I love it all. If I had this room in my house, I would never leave. The lighting, the beadboard inset bookshelves, the built-ins….

And I’m considering refinishing and staining our doors (a little darker than this) and then painting the rest of the other trim white.

Thoughts?

    Kim,

I found you over at TaraBeingTara. I am the one with the good smelling house. 🙂

I just put up my weekly cleaning post about what I use.

I also use Pledge Multi Surface cleaner in Rainshower scent! 🙂

Just added you to my Google Reader, and I’m excited to get to know you and your blog!

So nice. Reminds me of a beach cottage. I like the light over the dresser and the headboard. I think I would prefer the doors darker too.

Sold! When can I move in? 😀
I think staining the doors would look great, especially with the rest of the trim white! Wish I had a project like that!

I’ve stripped layers & layers of paint off several gorgeous solid wood doors in our house just to refinish them & hang them back up next to our white trim. I think it’s a beautiful look, especially if you have hardwood floors.

There is not a single thing in this room not to like. It looks so restful.

I think your door and trim idea is a must-do. It will look fabulous.

Dad says, “Paint everything white. Especially if it’s oak!”

I saw this photo a couple of weeks ago and when I bookmarked it, it was for the doors!! I love the idea of those doors with your beautiful, white woodowork.
