Quilt love

March 9, 2011 by Kim Woodward

I’ve had quilts on the mind lately, particularly since finishing the baby quilt for my future niece or nephew (who should be making an appearance by the end of the week, by the way).

There are so many pretties out there. Here are a few of my favorites.

A monogram quilt at Piece N Quilt

Boxed-in quilt by Moda

A bunting quilt from Vintage Modern Quilts

A ticker tape quilt from Crazy Mom Quilts

Building blocks from Moda

Are you a quilt lover, too?

I love quilts. But the ones I make are always really fast and simple…..or they’ll never get done.

I wish I had more patience with sewing because all of these are beautiful. My attention span is that of a pillow cover…if I’m lucky. 😛

I love quilts… But my goodness I’m terrified to attempt one..

I want one like the bunting quilt by Vintage modern quilts for my living room… and well for photo props too..

Such fun picks! I love, love the bunting one. And the monogram one is pretty sharp, too.

I want to make the bunting one so bad! My problem is, I don’t actually quilt any of my quilts, I just tie them. They never look as good. Those are beautiful!

I love that first one. Even without the monogram, it would be so much fun. We currently have a quilt on our bed that my mom made for us as a wedding gift. Unfortunately, I am tiring of it and would really like to get something new in there. While I was leaning toward purchasing bedding to get away from the patchwork look, I think this would be a great option. And since I quilt I could totally do it myself. Yeah!! Thanks for sharing, Kim.

The monogram one is totally unique – I love the concept.

I would definitely use the bunting quilt, it’s SO fun!

I am not a traditional quilt lover, but I love modern styles. Mr.’s mom gave us a stack of old quilts way back when and there are two I use regularly. They are both pretty pastels as opposed to the usual heavy colors.

All of those are beautiful and for all different reasons and uses! I just finished my first quilt and I have been slightly obsessed with quilts lately. I just got the book “Fresh Quilting” by Malka Dubrawsky and I highly recommend you check it out if you haven’t already!

Wow, my month popped open, I adore the bunting quilt. I adore quilts however they seem so hard to make!! I would love you sew one of our baby, before his arrival in June. I’m in love with that quilt!

The bunting quilt would be a perfect addition – but sure I need learn how to make a starter quilt!!

They are all great! I love the monogram one most but also the bunting one. I’m definitely a quilt lover, and I wish I was a good quilter – making some sort of a quilt is on my to do list for this year, but it might be a small baby doll quilt or something so its actually do able!

Love the first one! How nice! I like quilts that are more plain, like the single color quilts from PB. They’re so timeless 🙂

Love love love them. My grandma makes all the grandkids a quilt when they get married and everyone always loves them. Knowing someone spent so much time on it means the most!

These quilts are beautiful. My grandmothers love making quilts, one has already made me one and the other grandmother is currently working on one for me. It is such a special thing and I know your future niece or nephew will love what you made.
