Pennant baby girl quilt

November 23, 2011 by Kim Woodward

Way back in July, my friend Katie from The Perks emailed me about the first pennant quilt I made as a gift. She was wondering if I’d make one for her baby, due in January.

Well, to say I was flattered would be the understatement of the century! That she would put trust in me to make something for baby girl made me so proud. And scared to death. I was (and am) so darn scared that she’ll realize I’m just a fraud who doesn’t know what she’s doing. But, I agreed.

Many months later after finding out the little miracle is a girl, here is my most recent pennant quilt.

Katie was about the most flexible momma-to-be. She said she liked my last pennant quilt so I just repeated the same quilt with most of the same fabrics (with a bit of pink and coral thrown in).

I really like how it turned out, and I hope above hopes that Katie and baby are able to get lots of time snuggling in this quilt.

Katie – thanks so much for trusting me to make something so special. I hope you are happy with how it turned out!

What do you think?

(While I’m not planning to quit my job and go into business, I am open to making a quilt for others on commission. Email me at newlywoodwards at gmail dot com if you are interested.)

It’s adorbs, love it. Oh and I’m betting you received like 25 emails as soon as you opened yourself to customers, right? Ladies love Kim quilts. And if you ever open a business, that’s what you should name it.

lovely, as always. It seems like this one has a few more pendents or rows? I like. Also- love your labels. Where did you find them? I have basic ones from etsy…that I always forget to use.

Not joking: Since I found out my best friend was pregnant, I have been wanting to ask you if I could commission you to make a quilt.
    So here’s my chance! 🙂

I am so impressed with your quilting skills! You make the prettiest baby quilts! I keep thinking about starting a quilt, but I’m worried it will go the way of the quilt I tried to make when I was 10 and never get finished. I’m probably more responsible now, right??? Right???

Also, your “Made by Kim Woodward” tag is darling!!!!

    Beautiful job!

I’m pretty sure I can figure out the how-to’s of this quilt but I was curious what you used for overall dimensions of the white and your backing. Would you mind sharing? I’m thinking this would be perfect for my sis-in-law who’s pregnant. Thanks!
