Pain in my nose…

January 6, 2009 by Kim Woodward

Okay, I officially earned my stupid card this morning.

I convinced the hubs to help me move the entertainment center in the living room this weekend. He helped – kicking and screaming. He didn’t think it was necessary or a good idea.

But, I did.

So, we moved the entertainment center. And, I spent the rest of the day moving the other furniture around and cleaning. In the end, it looks pretty good and a lot bigger. Even Ryan admitted this, surprisingly.

But, the problem with moving furniture around is that you aren’t used to the layout. The entertainment center is now right in my normal shortcut walkway coming down the stairs. (You know how this ends, don’t you?)

After waking up this morning, I was carrying Lola downstairs (because she cannot apparently walk on her own four feet) and it was still pitch black in the house. I rounded the corner and BAM! I went full-speed, face-first into the solid oak entertainment center.

Oak is a hard wood.

I hear.

So, I hurt so bad now, it’s sick. My nose is swelling like Pinocchio after telling a monster lie. My head is pounding, Ryan was a dear and fetched me some Advil and an ice pack. However – I’m fearing that I will wake up tomorrow with a big nose and black eyes. That will be lovely.

But…. what is lovely??

The layout.

The photos don’t really do it justice, but it looks a heckuva lot bigger… which, in a small room like this, is worth the pain the layout incurred.

@ Katie – Puppy was fine, thanks for asking! She licked my wounds… =)

@ Longbrakeliving – There is a protruding wall, so there isn’t much movement allotted. We’ll see if I can do better. =)

I walked into a tree branch the other day walking my dog, so I hear you on the head injury. The layout does look very roomy! I do wonder if you could slide the TV cabinet over just a bit so you won’t hit your nose. It looks like it might be possibly in the photo, but it also looks like there might be a jut-out in the wall preventing it.

Oh my god, that’s hilarious! I did this once, too. But I didn’t walk into furniture, I walked into a big giant window. And it wasn’t at home, it was at a crowded restaurant. And I know it HURTS. Hope you don’t have a bruised face tomorrow! (but if you do, would you mind posting pics?) Haha.
