On the town with Leigh

November 5, 2010 by Kim Woodward

While I was in DC, I also got the chance to meet up with Leigh at Popcorn Ideas. I have to admit, having friends in every corner of the county through blogging is just so fun. First, I met Jen. Then Jenny. Then Cindy, Allison, Allison and Suzanne. And, now Leigh.

As soon as I knew I was going to Washington, D.C., I shot Leigh an email and she was game for a meet-up with a crazy blogging stranger.

Sweet.

So, after she got off work, she met me at the Metro station and we headed to Chinatown.

First of all, let’s just say that Leigh had to give little-town Kim the basics about how to ride the Metro. I was her public transportation charity case. 😉 But, it was fun. Chinatown was neat.

We did some walking around, then stopped in to check out the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery.

Then, we grabbed dinner and a drink and called it a night. It was way past my bedtime (8 p.m.) but Leigh is a night owl and was probably just getting started. 🙂

It was such a great time with a blog friend and I’m thankful it worked out. Wish we lived closer. Maybe I’d start staying up until 9 p.m. Become a rebel without a cause.

Who wants to hang out with Kim next? Any takers? 😉

I LOVE having blog friends all over the country, although it makes me super sad that I can’t get every single one of them together and once for a big party. If you’re ever in New England, let me know and we can get together again!

    xoxo

Aww, fun! I’m just sad I didn’t get to be part of the meet up; I’m just on the other side of DC (Maryland) and was in China town the other day. Even though I’m on a blogging break, I think we still could’ve called it a blogger meet up 🙂

See the Liberty Bell, have a cheesesteak (I won’t even judge you if you like Pat’s better), and you could hang out with me AND Shannanigans. We are a good time.

I love DC, we’re heading that way in January (I think) for a wedding. Can’t wait to see it in the winter.
