What a year! 2012 was truly the craziest year of my life. The most amazing, scariest, quickest, most difficult and most rewarding year of my life.
In January, I refrained from making tons of resolutions and goals. Instead, I had one goal – have a baby.
Nailed it.
But, we had a lot of other awesome moments in 2012, too.
The best part of keeping up on this blog consistently is the fact that I have memories recorded for years to come. I’m not a journaler and not much of a scrapbooker. But, this blog has become a diary of sorts. What a blessing for someone like me, who has zero memory.
Seriously. I just forgot what I wrote.
As I was sifting back through posts, I thought I’d share a few of the most memorable posts and moments from the year.
Okay. So, I had a tough time narrowing them down … but here’s a little recap.
January
Announced our big baby news. Finished tiling the fireplace. Added open shelving in the kitchen.
February
Met up with blog friends for a weekend. Learned we were having a little boy. Enjoyed an Arizona getaway.
March
Made a pinwheel mobile, curtains and a tree trunk table for Henry’s nursery. Enjoyed the first of four showers for the child formerly known as Baby Dub. Purchased 17 acres of property to one day build our forever home.
April
Bought an old tractor. Had great showers #2 and #3. Enjoyed an awesome blog friends weekend in Chicago.
May
Finished the upholstered bed for the nursery, DIY crib skirt and a houndstooth quilt. Enjoyed another awesome baby shower. Welcomed Henry to the world.
June
Introduced you to our awesome deconstructed barn. Started sharing weekly photos of Henry. Described the first few weeks of parenthood on Henry’s due date.
July
August
Shared Henry’s fabric-covered canvases. (Which was our most-pinned project from the year.) Started life as a working momma. Painted wicker baskets.
September
Started eating bacon. Finished a stripes and monogram baby quilt.
October
Spookified our stairs. Ryan turned 30. Hosted a great fundraising sign-making party. Celebrated Halloween with our little Oh Henry bar.
November
Shared our picks for nice-to-have baby gear. Hosted Dare to DIY for the fourth year with my buddies.
December
Visited two Santas. Decorated lots of nooks and crannies for Christmas. Celebrated our best Christmas ever.
And that, my friends. Is a mighty fine year.
