Holiday home tour: Outdoors

December 17, 2009 by Kim Woodward

We only do a little outdoor decorating. I’d love to do lights, but it’s a lot more work than we want to put into it. But, here’s what we did this year:

(As you can see, it snowed before I took all the photos.)

Do you decorate outside?

I love the ribbon on your window boxes. That is a great idea! If I had window boxes, I’d run right out and copy you now. 😉

The blanket of snow only adds to the charmingness that is your home. I am DYING over your white picket fence. ::whispers to myself:: Someday, FC, someday.

I love your mailbox and even more (if that is possible) your door!! Wow! I wish it would work on our door but it has stained glass. Beautiful job!

    LOVE the lettered mailbox… fabulous!

And I can’t tell you how excited I am that you got an embroidery machine… seriously, that’s fabulous. I don’t know if I’d ever get anything done besides embroidering everything I could get my hands on. 🙂 What projects are on your docket?

    color=cold

And, Meredith, I do leave up the decal all year. =)

Jordan – that’s a good point. I guess that I meant I don’t like the cold. And, I don’t wanna put up lights, on a ladder, in the color. That on top of the fact that we have NO outside outlets. 😉

First – I hate you for having snow.
Second – I hate you for your window boxes. They are too darn cute. Make some for me and ship them to Virginia. Along with that snow.
Third – I hate you for how awesomely adorable your fence is with the garland swag.

    That is all. 🙂

Looks fabulous! Love the sled. The snow couldn’t have been placed on it more perfectly. It all looks like something from Better Homes and Gardens! Do you have trees in the dogs room? I thought I saw something in the reflection. Love it all Kim. Merry Christmas!

Your outside looks beautiful! We had window boxes in our first house and I miss them!! I love how you added the red bow! The fence looks great! The snow just makes it extra special!

If Audrey Hepburn had window boxes, that is how she’d decorate them for Christmas. And that, my friend, is my very highest compliment. 🙂

the snow is a great tough! We do lights outside, and a wreath or two

Your house is adorable! Nice touch with the snow! We do decorate outside. Lights around our door and and on the bushes, a wreath on the door.

My husband is a total fanatic with outdoor lighting. He puts so many up that circuit breakers flip…then he realizes it’s time to stop. There’s such a thing as too many outdoor lites, so enjoy the beautiful decs you do!

Oh my goodness! I love your door with the decal! Do you leave it up all year or just for the season? I think I want one for all year long!

I love that you say putting up lights is more work than you wanted to put into decorating, yet you decorate every room of your house! I guess everybody has different priorities 🙂

Your home looks so beautiful with all the snow! I’m not able to decorate this year with all of the reovation work going on in my house, but you better believe that I’ll stalk the Christmas clearances to get great deals for next year!
