Happy Halloween, friends!
I have done nothing “Halloween-y” this year. No costume, no candy, no pumpkin carving, no baked pumpkin seeds. I haven’t even plugged in the ceramic Woodward Jack-O-Lantern. The shame!
(Photo from 2010)
But, I did think it would be fun to break out some old Halloween photos to share, after seeing Suzanne at bebehblog’s Vintage Halloween Hop.
So, humor me. I got a good kick out of old pictures of my brother and I in Halloween garb.
First of all, I’m pretty sure that’s my china hutch in the background. And that clown mask is still giving me nightmares. No wonder I wasn’t interested in wearing it.
Look, mom! I can do my own makeup. And dress up like a….? What the heck was I supposed to be?
My makeup skills are improving. I was Gem. Remember Gem? She was awesome.
As I have displayed, I understood the power of accessorizing early. Note the golden hat, belt and wand. I could use that wand today. You know, for daily magic. And my brother (Spider Man, in case you were wondering) clearly needed that cane. Ha!
And a blurry picture, but my favorite costume. Cowgirl. I still remember how much I loved this costume. The hat, the skirt, the tights, the guns. Fab.
And this was a close second in the costume department. I’m pretty sure I put Go Go the Walking Pup in that basket. (And my brother was a mean Ninja Turtle, no?)
And my last year of Trick or Treating, Papa Bear dominated by making a box into a die. My friend was the matching die. Clever. Kyle was the devil, apparently.
And here are Ryan and I’s first few Halloweens (2001 and 2002).
So, that’s our little trip during Halloween Memory Lane. Any funny caption ideas for these puppies?
Happy Halloween!

your brother is very pleasing to the eye. you must be so proud to be standing with him in these pictures, eh?
=)
I loved seeing all of your childhood Halloween photos!! What fun!
Your Popples costume (or whatever it was) cracks me up! I had a Popples lunch box… It’s prolly still in my parents basement!
So this was yours and Ryans 10th Halloween together? Impressive.
I was a Dorothy too! My mom made me sparkly red shoes (since you couldn’t find them anywhere then). I loved those things. But I think they shed sparkles and made a mess because they disappeared shortly after the big night.
I absolutely ❤❤❤! Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories Kimmy. I love you sweetie!
Popples.
Thats all I am saying. Because the awesomeness is in that single word.

You are just so cute in all of these photos!
Love the pictures! The dice made me laugh because I was just watching some TV show and the daughter on the show dressed up as the same thing ha.
Your a popple! I remember popples! I still HAVE some popples!!! I always wanted to be something cool like dice but never wanted to give up my chance at wearing makeup before I was allowed to 🙂 Thanks for linking up, you’re pictures are awesome!
*popple. Dang auto-correct!
Um, you were a people. Remember those, ittle animals that folded inside themselves to make a ball? Shame on you for forgetting the 80’s. 😉

Those are some killer makeup skills. Killer. 😉
How cute!
you looked so cute!! my favorite costume was when i was around 7-8 and i wanted to be a monarch butterfly. my mom helped me paint wings and i wore a black leotard and black tights :).
loving the plastic Halloween costumes! 🙂 Ahh to be a kid again :)and my sis and I loved Jem and the Holograms, no fair you got to be her!
I always wanted to be rainbow bright as a kid!!
Adorable! Totally love it. I remember being a clown (with similarly awesome make-up). I loved clowns when I was a kid! Now I think they’re creepy. Weird.
Those are awesome! I remember Popples. I wanted one so badly, but my sister got one instead. Story of my life.
I do remember Gem, and I was totally channeling her last week when the girls gave me a makeover. It was hot.
I never got to go trick or treating. We lived way out in the country, and it wasn’t something my parents wanted us to get into. (Odd b/c they both grew up ToTing) ??!
So now I have a blast picking out cute stuff for my kids to wear. I have two cats this year. 🙂
Popples for the win!
OMGosh, Kim. Too cute. My sister was a die in the 60’s. Never saw anyone else do that one before.
