Funky quilted table runner

March 16, 2010 by Kim Woodward

I finished quilting and binding the table runner previewed here. In the end, I like it. It’s been a while since I’ve quilted, so this was probably a good way to ease back into it. I had some trouble with the binding, but it looks bright and cheery in the end.

What’s your current project?

I’ll have to show you my binding method. It’s pretty fool-proof and easy.

I have too many projects to name them all here, but the one that has been getting the most attention lately is a scrap quilt made up of 400 flying gees units, 200 quarter square triangles and over 40 fabrics.

All the individual units are done, now I just have to sew them into 25, 16-inch blocks.

Love it! And even though you mentioned that the binding gave you some trouble, it looks great. The patterns and the colors look great. Well done!

Kim, such a cute mini-runner! The colors are the perfect Spring combination. I know you mentioned this before, but where did you find the bird window decal? I have a small obsession with decorating with birds and have yet to try decorating with this obsession. Can you help a girl out? =) Have a great day!

That looks amazing! I’m working on painting our downstairs right now. I’ve finished the living room and kitchen but will be working on the hallway and stairwell next 🙂 Gotta get it down before cottage season starts!

Super cute runner Kim! I seriously envy your ability to make SQUARE quilt blocks! This is something that completely escapes me.
Currently I’m working on….painting plastic eggs for a little spring nest…oh yeah, and I’m building little nests as well. Do your little chickadees hire out? 😉

LOVE the fabrics! I personally hate binding with a burning passion and it’s keeping me from doing any quilting projects.
