I think I have a new theme for the barn apartment.
Cows.
I just love ’em.
I spotted this little beauty at my newest favorite store – Urban Farmhouse in Geneseo, Ill. (Which, by the way, is worth the trip if you are within driving distance.)
This technically breaks my no unnecessary spending rule for September. Unless you are me. Because I say this was a necessary expenditure. There was ONLY ONE COW, people. And four people tried to steal it from me on the way out. It was like Black Friday going on at Urban Farmhouse. On a Saturday in September.
Luckily I had my brass knuckles. And I was victorious. BAM!
To celebrate I completely broke my no unnecessary spending rule and brought these home, too.
I love these hooks so much.
So, I guess this is just my way of coming clean. I’m human – and I needed that cow in my life.
Next up in my cow theme – I’m going to get a print of (the state fair award winning) Miley the cow from my friends Michelle and Nate’s Decor and the Dog Photo Shop.
Cow chic is totally a thing. Am I right?

I love it! The cow, the crates, that chalkboard, and your adorable outfit! You look amazing! 🙂
I love the photo of you with your cow score!
Cows are a good thing, even if Martha doesn’t recognize that. Oooooh, I’m gonna make me one of those coat racks!
That cow is awesome! And I love the other goodies you picked up too!
you are totally rocking those boots! where did you get them?
Thanks, Marie! I bought them at Dillards last winter. I seriously searched for these.exact.boots for months with money I had saved from a gift. It was crazy how hard it was to find flat, camel-colored boots that were comfortable and good looking. These are by Naturalizer.
I see your point–that cow was about as optional as oxygen. And your outfit is adorable, I’ll be copying you as soon as it gets cool enough for boots out here 🙂
Thanks, friend. YOU COPYING ME? My life is complete – since you are my fashion idol.
It’s so true what you say about wood cows. I didn’t even realize I needed one until now!
I know! It’s going to be an epidemic soon.
i love your big cow! i love the wood, finish, and the rope!
Thanks, Cassie!
I started decorating with cows when we moved to Lancaster PA. My favorite is a wood rocking cow. She rocks side to side and her head tail and udder rock separately.
That sounds awesome!
