During my spending freeze month, I added a few tobacco baskets to the stairway, and I was loving how it looked.
But as I was adjusting things in my home this month, I tweaked the area a little more. I decided I wanted to add some family photos to this area – and I think it turned out cute.

Because tobacco baskets are so light, I just attached them to the wall with 3M velcro strips. That means I won’t have to fill holes and paint when I inevitably change my mind in a few weeks/months/years.
I was even able to add two baskets together to give it a little more interest and depth.
The photos were also attached using 3M strips. So far, they’ve held up well. And I like that I can change them out easily. (I also think they’ll be great to display Christmas cards in a few months.)

It’s not easy to get a good photo of this area because of the lack of light at the top of the stairs, but it looks really cute in person. Adds a little texture and variety.
However, the more I look at it, the more I think it needs a board and batten treatment in the stairway. I know Ryan will be pleased with my idea. (Check out our board and batten stairway in the last house.)
I love it!!! I’m always looking for different ideas for displaying photos because I LOVE photos! Thank you for all your inspiration!
What a great idea! I love the look and the fact that it’s super easy, now I’m on the hunt for tobacco baskets!
