Couch swaparoo

February 9, 2009 by Kim Woodward

We have a bit of a new look in our living room and office. I picked up some slipcovers from Target to try to protect the couch and loveseat from the devils.

Office loveseat before:
The loveseat was quite comfortable and in awesome shape. Plus, it has a pull-out bed for company. But, the print didn’t really go with the rug (which we both like).

Office loveseat after:
The pretty red cover caught my attention. It’s stretch fabric, so it fits well. It’s a corduroy-type material. I also picked up the new pillow to pull the colors from the rug in. I really like how it turned out.

Franco loves the new pillow, too. =)

Living room couch before:
The dogs were tearing up this couch, and I wanted to protect it will look good for several more years.

Living room couch after:
I like the new brown slipcover, it breaks up the pattern and fits the sofa well. I like that it has a separate cover over the cushions. (Clearly, I also rearranged the furniture.)

What do you think?
I’m definitely needing something more to pull together the living room. The first thing I need to figure out is pillows… and I’ll need your help. Okay? Okay…
I will be posting later this week about that once I get a few options together. If anyone has any other ideas on how to make the room look more polished, let me know. Keep in mind that the dogs will tear up anything they can get their paws on. So most items that would go on a table or the floor are out. =/

Gotta love re-designs, esp. when it doesn’t cost much!

Ooh, such a great pop of color, that red slipcover. Snazzy jazzy.

Oooh!! I like I like! Especially the red sofa cover. When our new furniture did not arrive on schedule as originally promised (Stupid Sofa Mart!) we had to run out and grab some covers for our old sofa & futon before our open house. I decided the covers do a nice job of dressing up old furniture; our old stuff will last several more years in the basement. And the dogs liked this option too because they are not allowed on the new stuff. =)

P.S. Be watching for photos of the Dollhouse Bunk Bed on our blog!! Andy managed to do it all this weekend so I’ll be posting photos hopefully in the next couple days!

Love the black and white pillow on the red couch, fabulous! I’m interested to hear how your experience with the separate seat slipcover is. We have an oversized sofa, so that wasn’t an option for ours, but I wanted it to be an option so badly!
