I really love sewing new things. I do like making repeat projects because I usually know what I’m doing and they go faster. But, I get a rush from sewing things I’ve never sewn before. In this case, I had far too much fun making two utility aprons as custom orders from my friend Shannon at Bottle Pop Party. She asked if I could put together aprons for her and her intern to use while setting up parties.
Because Bottle Pop Party is all about pink and black and white stripes, that’s exactly what I went with for these pretties. They turned out so cute, and are so practical. There are plenty of pockets for tape, scissors and all other party necessities. Plus, I used canvas so they are heavy-duty.
The aprons came together quickly except for the fact that I ended up piecing the black and white because I couldn’t find any stripes that I liked. It was a happy accident because I think it actually adds a bit more whimsy and interest.
Hope that those Bottle Pop Party-ers love them as much as I do.

Cute! I like the added touch of the custom stripes! =)
Oh that’s adorable!
Super cute! I had one that was similar (but not as cute) when I taught, so I could carry sticky notes and what not in it. It was so helpful just wish it wouldn’t have been ugly.
I think that’s adorable! I cant even sew a button (no, seriously, I cannot) so stuff like this simply amazes me 🙂
You’re a apron making rock start.
Looks great! It’s hard to believe that you couldn’t find simple black and white stripes like that. Note to fabric designers!
