A 2012 holiday home tour at the NewlyWoodwards

December 19, 2012 by Kim Woodward

In case you’ve missed any of our holiday home posts this year, here is a full holiday home tour, with a few of my favorite parts of each room. (Check out the links for the full tour of each area.)

Welcome to the NewlyWoodwards – starting with our festive front door and homemade NOEL “wreath.”

The entry welcomes you with the ever-changing word blocks and DIY silhouettes.

In our living room, we have traditional colors of red and green.

Including our trio of alpine trees.
And don’t forget our homespun mantel and stockings.
Then, we’ll breeze right past the staircase, where we’ll recite the first few lines of “The Night before Christmas.”
At which point we end up in the dining room, full of turquoise and yellow and silver. The perfect holiday colors.
The silver tree glows quite nicely at night.
And I love the table setting so well that I may leave it up into the new year.
And we’ve got our little nativity set up, too.
And I put up our little village on top of the hutch. Complete with a tiny Menards. A Woodward-style town.
The hutch is filled with more of our fun Fiestaware lights dishes. Which, by the way, are the most fabulous Christmas dishes in all the land. (And because I’m always asked, they were purchased at Younkers. And they sell out of them every year.)

Moving onto the kitchen. With a little tree, lots of dishes and a festive chalkboard.
And finally, my favorite tree in the house. The live tree in Henry’s room that I adorned with little pennants.
And that’s the Woodward casa, all dressed up for the holidays. Ooo … and don’t forget our Christmas card for the year. Actually, there are two of them, based on what I had in my stash. Had to show off that Henry wrist roll in all its glory.
So, consider this our personal holiday wish to you.
A very Merry Christmas to all!!

Wow. I kind of want to move into your house. I promise that Curtis and I and our four boys and two dogs and three cats won’t take up THAT much room or cause TOO much destruction! 😉
