Otherwise known as WHAT THE HECK TOOK ME FOUR YEARS TO DO THIS?
I don’t really know why we wait until we’re selling to finish all the small nagging projects. But that’s the way it works in Woodward land.
This stupid lantern in front of our house has been laughing in my face for four years. Little stinker. It actually works, so it’s not something I wanted to get rid of when we were renovating. But there it sat for four years – black, rusty, with two missing panes of glass and filled with remnants from a bird’s nest.
While we were working on our sell-this-house list, I realized that I needed to add this lantern to the list. It was just so stinkin’ ugly. So, I cleaned it, sanded it and hit it with white spray paint. Then, Ryan got new pieces of glass for the two that were missing.
Look at that. The lantern no longer looks like it belongs at a crack house.
Just another easy-as-pie update from the Woodwards.

Ha, I have also never even noticed the lantern. But hey, it looks great now! It’s always amazing what a little spray paint will do.

Is it weird that I have never even noticed your lantern? I’ll be sure to check it out…unless your house sells before then.
I should, however, help you move. You have it writing.

My old gas lamp looks like yours did. Battered, blackened, and worn out. I never thought to paint it! Thanks for the idea!
PS I love your little house!
