Upgrading and personalizing stadium cups for a party

June 3, 2014 by Kim Woodward

One of my favorite parts of Henry’s party came together at that last minute. (Stop acting so shocked.)

When I was ordering glasses on Amazon, I realized it wouldn’t be that much more to order green stadium cups. Then I could personalize them AND people could take them home.

Because who doesn’t need a two-year-old-birthday stadium cup to remember a party by?

Don’t answer that question.

In my pre-party craziness, I determined that this was a MUST-DO project.

The good news – it was seriously simple. I simply cut a tractor shape in white viny land added a two in the wheel. (The shape was pulled from this design – which I also used for a onesie last year) I cut 25 of them (each was about 2.5″ wide by 1.5″ tall).

In true Kim form, I ran out of transfer tape when I was working on these. But painters tape actually worked great and was the perfect smaller size.

If you ever try to use vinyl without transfer tape, you’ll regret it. The tape works just as well for smaller designs.

In the end, the cups were a hit. They held up much better than the paper cups I normally buy. They were a much better size than the tiny versions. And they were a conversation piece – people loved them.

And the kiddos all got to take home those adorable tractor straw tumblers provided by 1st Wishes. They were a ridiculous hit, too.

They also looked adorable. Let’s the honest – this was really the main reason I made them. 😉

An unexpected bonus – I was able to toss all of our old nasty plastic cups to upgrade to these at home. (Are we the only family who never use our “nice” glasses, preferring plastic instead?)

Have I gone over the personalization deep-end? Or are these really as cute as I’d like to believe?

How much would you charge to do these with the Cat in the Hat. I have the cups.

fantastic submit, very informative. I ponder why the opposite specialists of this sector do not realize this.
You should continue your writing. I am sure, you have a great readers’ base already!

Love the idea of personalized cups. I’m considering doing this but with a Dr. Seuss theme. My question is how does the vinyl do with washing? Does it stay for a while or is it just for one use? Thanks!

We have been using ours for a month and the vinyl is still on after numerous trips to the dishwasher.

    TOO CUTE!!
Ok where did you get those big large drink dispensers? They kind of look like XL mason jars. LOVE them and you can never have enough drink dispensers, right? 🙂

It is from BB&B. I got it earlier this year after my old dispenser was cracked. I love it!

K, silhouette is officially on my christmas or birthday list. Love this. I should do this for our big family reunion this summer. But Christmas is after July, so I’ll probably just think about how I should do it and let it slide. Typical Emily.

What an adorable party favor. I need a Silhouette! Can you imagine the cute things that I could create for my classroom??

Totally. I’m so hooked – I use it all the time! (And I don’t have a classroom. I can’t imagine how much more use you would get.)

Um, they’re that cute and then some. Seriously. I love them! You’re leading me to believe I need a Silhouette. I probably need it before my sister’s shower this summer, no?

Thanks for the vote of approval.

And yes. You need a Silhouette.

Or at the very least, you need to have me make some stuff for the shower. Seriously.
