Are you looking for a simple Valentine’s Day tradition for your kids? Try a photo story book that reminds them of all the people who love them.

It’s a nice reminder that he (or she) is loved. And a good way to reinforce all the family members he (or she) may not see all the time.

We even include the dogs.
Every year looks a little different, as kids grow and change. Even as a baby, Henry loved the book and would stare at the pictures and pay attention throughout. I think the simple format and black and white lettering helps.

Update 2/2020: With three kids in our house, this book has become a tradition they all love. All three kids get books around Valentine’s Day and we read them almost every day. And the kids love looking back at who made it into the books of past.
I originally planned to make this book in a board book style, but when a $20 free code in popped into my email in December from Shutterfly, I jumped on it. It was relatively quick and easy to put together right in the system’s online book builder.
It was so simple that I started adding to them and making a new one every year. (Hint: You can duplicate the books each year, remove all the photos and start again.)
What do you think of our love book?
Here’s the link for the entire book, in case you are interested.

COOL!!!! Love it, a book Henry will cherish forever!
Love this idea!! I did a similar thing for my niece but I just put people’s names on the photos with a photo editor and printed the photos out to put in a simple album. I like it done in this format even more!
Your boy is sooo cute!
This is the cutest idea ever!!
I should really do this because when I ask Junior who loves him, he replies “BILL!”.
PS – That suuuuuuure is a cute kid you got there!!
That is an awesome idea! Those memories can be enjoyed by the whole family forever.
I am pretty much copying all of your baby ideas hahah! Thanks for always inspiring Kim!
Darling! I did make a board book for Cream with the same idea, but Shutterfly is even better. And if he destroys it, you can order another.
I think this is awesome! I’d love to do a board book version, but all the kits I’ve found are kind of…um..pricey for a board book. Maybe I should shutterfly it. Also, I’m wrapping my head around the wordpress transition, so when you’re ready to bite the bullet, I’m happy to help!
What a beautiful idea, Kim!! I don’t think kids can hear they are loved enough times. Or any of us, really! What a great way to include pictures of people he doesn’t see everyday, too. Love it.
So sweet! I love his book–I meant to make one forever for Forrest, and I never did. Shame on me. (But I did a ‘who loves Forrest’ coloring book for Christmas, so my 2 1/2 years of neglect were swiftly forgotten, I’m sure . . . ) It came out adorable, and I love the picture of him looking at it! Even the top of his head is cute.
What a sweet gift! I absolutely love this idea…especially to make one every year. I used shutterfly to put together a book of our honeymoon pictures…we love it!
Love that–such a great idea–pinning so I’ll remember it when my baby can focus on things more than 18 inches from his face 🙂
Such a sweet idea!!
