We sold our house. (*Happy dance!*)
We decided to list the house with a realtor the week before leaving for vacation. We got an offer two days later. Actually the day that Shannon and John and Gabe were visiting. (Thank goodness they were so sweet about me taking calls all day.) Then, we did some back and forth and finally came to an agreement while we were vacationing.
Wow. That’s what I was thinking.
Now that the inspection is over, I felt comfortable sharing it on the blog. (Hopefully I don’t jinx it.) And because we’ll be out of town again in mid-September, we have begun packing and moving.
I got the dining room all boxed up. You wouldn’t believe how much STUFF can fit in those hutches. A lot.
We hope to be completely moved to the new house around Labor Day. Which means that last weekend, Ryan and his dad installed the water heater (hot water could be helpful) and Ryan’s mom and I cleaned the new house from top to bottom (still so much dry wall dust)…
It’s looking so good.
Don’t you love the curtains? Ryan and I got them all up on Saturday. They are a little more see-through than expected, but I ordered some curtain liners to block the light. And at least there’s a little privacy for the time being with the pretty texture I love in bamboo shades.
The shower curtain will likely be changed. I love the pattern, but I want something a little more subdued. I’ll use that curtain elsewhere. (I found it months ago on clearance.) And for now, we have a curtain.
It’s beginning to feel a little more like home. Which is good, because in less than a week, it will be. For all intents and purposes.
My parents and brother bear also helped us move some of the big stuff over the weekend to get started with the move.
The dining room is filling up.
Don’t worry, I’m not leaving all the stuff out. I just figured it was easier to get all the frames up and out of the way until I decide what to do with them.
This head start leaves us with a living space that looks like this.
There’s a serious echo in here. The pugs don’t know what in the world is going on.
Oh yeah, and we still need to pack up everything else we own. Our entire lives.
Ho-ly mo-ly.
Help!
(And as an aside, I have not begun to think about the fact that we are leaving our first home within the next few weeks. The home that we love and made our own and will likely miss terribly. So, please don’t ask. Okay, maybe I’ve thought about it a little.)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!!!! :):):):):):) CONGRATULATIONS!!
exciting but scary. Good luck to you guys! oh , how I hate packing.
I love the curtains! Where did you get them?
SO happy for you guys! I mean, I knew we were good luck charms and all but, nothing like sealing the deal! I can totally imagine you being sad about leaving your home. Heck, I’m sad about you moving. You made that house so warm and inviting ( and smellin’ good!), and you spent a ton of good times there. But oh man, that new house? It’s gonna be something. Did I mention I want to knock down the daycare and build my new house next door? Working on those plans…
Congrats! That is so excited and such a weight off your shoulders. Yay for you guys!
Yay, congratulations! I bet you are so relieved. and maybe sad at the same time? The new house is looking so great. It’s really starting to look ‘homey’!
I hope the move goes smooth for you!
You do know, now that you’ve sold the old house, this frees up my schedule a bit b/c I won’t be doing my nightly drive-by stalking over there anymore. This also means I’ll be able to drive by your NEW house even more.
Congrats on the sale!!!! Good luck w/ the moving insanity & life getting even busier. Yay on cleaning top to bottom…..dry wall dust exists only to annoy us, I swear.
That’s why I hired movers to help me. It was overwhelming enough leaving my home behind, but doing so by myself was heartbreaking. My mother, S-I-L, and I went over the first day to start packing and I made it about an hour before having a meltdown. Movers to the rescue. Just remember to think about how lucky you are to have a family willing to lend a hand, loving puggies to come home to no matter where home is, and a husband who tries his hardest to make every wish come true. Home is where the pugs are, right? hehe
I’m so happy to hear the house sold! And everything is looking great, it’s so fun to see the house you’ve been slaving away on for a year suddenly transform from a beautiful house into a beautiful home as you move your life into it!!!
Wow! Congratulations! Have to say, I’m not very surprised your house sold so quickly – you guys did a great job making it fantastic! Also, I love that green shower curtain. Not in that bathroom, but I still love it. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
I am not surprised your home sold that quickly after you got an agent. It is such an adorable home! The new owners are very lucky.
CONGRATS ON SELLING YOUR HOME!!! bittersweet 🙂
CONGRATS! That is great news!
Your new house looks absolutely beautiful! I had to almost look back and see if it was your old house or new house because it already looked so put together! Congratulations on your sale!
CONGRATS!! Moving blows….we were moving loads until 4:00 am the morning we had to turn the keys over. So smart to get a jump start. And I’m loving the light, icy blue in the kitchen.
Congratulations!! Packing and unpacking are no fun, but I’m sure it will be worth it to be living in your gorgeous new house! I bet you can’t wait to start using the new kitchen. 🙂 Good luck for a nice smooth move.
Congrats! So excited for you!
Congrats! Now…where are these curtains you speak of??

That’s so exciting! Congrats. I am so in love with your sink :]
Congrats, Kim! I know it will be bittersweet, but I am so happy that you had a relatively quick sale process! Good luck moving!
An electric guitar, a couch and ottoman, and a big screen TV. What more do you need? I’d just stay there………..LOL
How exciting!!! Congratulations 🙂 And I don’t know how I’ll handle leaving our first home behind. I’m sure there will be some tears! At least you have all these great photos and posts to look back upon to remember 🙂
Yay…. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!! After you move, you’ll probably never want to move again!
For about a week, until you guys get the remodel urge again…
Congrats this is so exciting for you both!!!!
Congratulations on selling your house!! I love the shades you put up and also the green shower curtain (which would actually look really cute used as real curtains). All the hard work you guys have put in over the last yr has really paid off.
How exciting. Congrats!
YAY! good luck with the move, everything looks fantastic!!
Congrats on selling the house! That is great news.
NO WAY!!!!! Congratulations, I’m so happy for you guys! And oh my goodness, your new house is looking like a HOME with all your goodies in there! Wow wow wow.
Congratulations Kim! Just a little help from the pros was all you guys needed to get that house sold!
So glad everything’s working out and that you had enough time to get your next place live-able in time to move in. Good luck with the packing and moving. It’s a great thing you’ll always have your blog photos to remember your first place!
Meredith @ Welcome to Heardmont
How exciting! I can imagine the feelings of leaving your first home but a new chapter starts and your new house is gorgeous. You guys did an awesome job!
Wow you are so lucky that it sold that fast! Congrats 🙂 Good luck settling in to your new house, I’m sure it won’t take that long for you to feel at home there and not miss the old one that much.
Congratulations!!
You’re going to have so much fun settling into the new house after all the sweat and heart you put into remodeling it. Best of luck this weekend!
Congratulations!!! Leaving will no doubt be hard, but I’m sure all the happiness surrounding the new place will outweigh the sadness!
Congratulations on the contract! How exciting to move in to the new place and set all your stuff up!!
I don’t ever want to think about leaving our first home, even though I know we likely will some day!
But WOOOOOOOOO! Congrats on selling! That is awesome!
Congrats on selling the house! Can’t wait to watch yall get settled in the new house.
Congratulations! The new place is gorgeous! Change is good!!
SO HAPPY for you! I’m thrilled that it sold and so excited for you to move into the new place. Which is looking absolutely amazing, by the way. I want to see more of that kitchen!!
Wow! Congratulations! Good luck with your move. Your new home is beautiful.
Very exciting!! I cried when we left our first house. Nate had no idea why. It was tiny and nothing compared to our new house..but it was our very first house as a married couple, where we brought Ike home to, etc. I totally get it. And then you move into the new house and life is good! 🙂
The changes are exciting! That is good news that your house sold so quickly. I love following along on your adventures!
That is great about the house!!! I know you will miss it but just think about the next adventure you guys are going on.
Your new house is looking great.
Wowwww! Super, super happy for you! What a God thing how smoothly this process has worked out 🙂
Yay!! It’s bittersweet, but time for the next adventure…
Congratulations! I was just wondering the other day if you guys had made any progress on the sale. So happy for you – but not envying the moving process! 🙂 Oh, and I have the same shorts – I love them! 🙂
Congrats! I’m so happy you guys found a buyer – and what a lucky buyer to get a house you put so much sweat and love into.
When we bought this house – our first – my husband was out to sea so I did all the moving myself (with help from my family, who came and slept on the floors of various rooms with no beds). I swore I was NEVER AGAIN moving without movers. Holy cow do I hate packing.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!That’s so exciting! (And daunting – I get a headache thinking about moving)
Oooh, congratulations!!!
Exciting and bittersweet all at the same time. But your blood, sweat, tears, and laughter in that home have brought you lots of memories and will live on in this blog. Think of all of the new ones to come!!!
I’m so excited for you! Even though it’s sad to leave your first home you must be thrilled to finally move into your new house. I can’t wait to see it transition from house to home!
wow, that’s fantastic! must be bittersweet, but so glad it worked out rather quickly. your new home is so beautiful.
