We started a new tradition this year with Henry. Handpainted Easter eggs – and they are made from wooden eggs so we can keep them.

I take exactly zero credit for this idea – my friend Julia at Cuckoo4Design shared it last year. The eggs her kiddos made inspired me to try it with Henry.
I only planned to make one, but Henry knew we had four of them and was ever the tormented artist. He simply had to paint them all. He couldn’t bear to keep this talent locked inside. Nor could he bear to wear any clothes.
I’m so happy with how they turned out. And it kept him busy for almost 30 minutes, which is a win in my book.
Just make sure to write your child’s name and age on the bottom.
Happy Easter, friends. I’ve declared that all candy is calorie free this weekend, so get to it.

ooh nice! I HATE dyeing real eggs, because there’s no way we can eat a million hardboiled eggs, so some always go to waste. So this sounds perfect! (you know, for next year, since obviously I missed this year).
So cute and thanks for the mention. Happy Easter my friend
That Julia! She’s always so crafty. Henry did a killer job on them! I bet my kids would love this. I hate paint crafts with them though. Definitely not the fun mom over here.
Just one more awesome tradition in the Woodward home. Love it Kim!
Cute! Henry is such an artist 🙂 And don’t worry, I already ate a whole bag of cadbury mini eggs for breakfast. I blame it on pregnancy. But let’s be honest, it’s an easter tradition.
SUCH a cute idea!! Might have to get my act together and do this toddler craft. 🙂
so fun and unbreakable! i love that!
Such an adorable idea! Sticking it in the memory banks…or Pinterest board.
