Time to store those Christmas decorations

December 26, 2013 by Kim Woodward

I hope you had a really lovely holiday with your family. Due to the fact that I’m insane, I’m taking down my Christmas decorations today. If I didn’t finish yesterday night. That’s my normal MO, I like to get everything stored away right after Christmas. It’s not for everyone, but I am ready for a pared down house.

I often get questions about where I put all our holiday decorations and I’m sharing some tips and ideas over at the Quad City Moms Blog today.

I hope you’ll stop over and leave me some comment love.

I’ll be taking mine down eventually, sometime after New Years! I will probably start while nursing my New Year’s hangover 😉

Our rule around here, is everything Christmas must be gone before New Years. After a month of Christmas decor, I love to wipe the slate clean. I took everything down yesterday but the tree will stay until Saturday.

Good rule! It’s nice to have a clean house for the New Year.

I guess the upside of not having our tree/house this Christmas is I don’t have to put anything away…yeah that’s not really worth it! 🙂 I’m so impressed with your efficiency!

Agreed but hubby won’t let me. But PARED DOWN is much desired and I’m jealous of you! Something about an empty, tidy, simplified home feels so good.

That is something so satisfying about packing it all away again, isn’t there?

Good for you! Nell had the Flu for Christmas, so I’m leaving them up longer until we do Christmas re-do with B’s family, but normally I’m taking them down the next day, too! My rule is all red has to be out of my house by Jan 1st.

You know, I usually wait until the day after New Years, but this year I am so ready for the clutter of the decor to go away. It might have to come down this weekend
