Superhero dress-up storage

October 14, 2015 by Kim Woodward

Being a boy mom is pretty rad. And I am constantly reminded of how much I love having this little duder.

And 3, you guys? It’s pretty awesome. It’s also tiring, frustrating, maddening and pull-my-hair-outing.

But also awesome. And fun. And hilarious.

And my favorite part of parenting a three-year-old boy?

Imaginative play.

I could spend my entire day listening to Henry make voices and create conversations between his super heroes and trains and trucks.

Oh wait. That’s right. I do spend my entire day doing that.

I mean, I’m legitimately living the dream.

Anyhow, as Henry gets more and more obsessed with superheroes and keeps adding to his dress-up collection, I knew we needed a quick and simple solution. And for some reason, there are very few ideas for BOY costume collection storage online. Tons of ideas for frilly princess dresses, but not much for Avengers masks and capes.

It doesn’t get any simpler than this.

It only took two packs of Command hooks that I picked up at Target.

Henry and I decided where we wanted them and put them up in his room. They are removable when we move into our new house and all the stuff stays off the floor. Henry loves his new “lair,” although it was a little hard for him to go to sleep the first night. He just wanted to play with all his cool stuff.

The best part is that his can put his things away on his own.

Any other great ideas for storing dress-up clothes?

My son is two and he’s really getting into imaginative play. It’s so fun to watch how his little mind works, even if I don’t understand any of his words or actions. I’m also a huge fan of all things Command storage, so I’m sure I’ll be putting this idea to good use in the future!

I love having his costumes out for him to see. He is obsessed with it and has had so much fun. Since I put this up, he’s been choosing at least one costume every day. Love it.
