The so-far house: Dining room

September 20, 2011 by Kim Woodward

Next up in the so-far house tour is the dining room. (Check out the master bedroom, exterior and bathroom. I’ll wait.)
I really love the dining room. It still needs quite a bit of putting together, but it’s still such a great room.
I love the original crown moulding and trimwork.
And I can’t wait to get curtains up. (Do you spot the fabric in the right corner?) They will really brighten it up.
I also have a seriously awesome idea for the upper walls. And I may do it sometime before the year 2050.
So, let’s take a look at where we came from in the dining room.
(July 2010)
(August 2010)
(February 2011)
(March 2011)
(August 2011)
(September 2011)

Of course your room is lovely. I just have to mention this is the second post where you talk about curtains or fabric somewhere in the pictures, and I can’t see anything of the sort! Am I blind?? Crazy??

As with the rest of the so-far house, the transformation just floors me. I bow down to your skillz. LOVE the paint color & the b&b/millwork.

(I’ve already seen this room, you know, from my nightly drive-bys.)

    (That joke never gets old.)

Shut the front door!! Kim, I love love love it!! I tried to convince my husband to “let” me paint our table (the one in the kitchen that looks just like yours), but he freaked out. I could tell he would go bananas if I did it behind his back. :s Too bad, b/c yours looks awesome, and mine is stuck in the 80s mapley oak look. :s

Oh, I’d totally forgotten about that before. Whoa. It’s a stunning room, Kim – and if possible it’s even more stunning when you compare it to where it came from. Such a fab renovation – you guys are awesome!

PS – do you have the leaf for that table? I painted need to repaint ours but I love being able to make the table round and oval on a whim.
