Shameless pug photos

November 4, 2009 by Kim Woodward

Little Franco, the demonic black pug, turned three on Saturday. (It’s no coincidence that he was born on Halloween.) This meant that he and Lola got extra-spoiled.

Both get equally spoiled on Franco’s birthday because we are horrible parents and forgot Lola’s birthday entirely. Isn’t that awful? So, Halloween has been deemed the puggies’ birthdays. Both of them.

So there.

They both got new hoodies and doggie cupcakes.

And, the cupcake frosting tasted like peanut butter. Not that I ate it when I got some on my finger. It’s just what I heard. From the cupcake lady. Hypothetically. I would never eat part of my dogs’ treats.

Moving on.

The race was on…

Franco never took his eyes off the cupcake. He was incredibly focused.

Lola was incredibly paranoid that someone was going to take it from her. Do you blame her? I mean, we took her birthday away from her for God’s sake. A cupcake would be nothing to her parents, the heathens.
Then Franco thought to himself, “Hmmm…. maybe if I lick the air, I will get some more tasty goodness.” No such luck.“So Franco, how does it feel to be three?”

“Franco?”

“Oh sorry, Lola. We forgot it’s your birthday, too. How’s it feel to be…. hmmm…. how old are you again?”

Poor, Lola. Doesn’t she look so confused and sad in this picture?
Don’t go calling the ASPCA, both the babies are fine and dandy… and spoiled rotten.
Happy birthday to both our pug babies.

That pic of Lola holding her cupcake hostage made me LOL. Blakely does the same thing when we give her stuff like that. She has to protect it.. I don’t know why. I don’t know that we’ve ever taken anything away from her in her life haha.

    Great post! 🙂

    LMAO!

Franco looks like he went into a cupcake induced trance. Lola looks like she’ll never forgive you guys for forgetting her B-day. THIS is why I *heart* pooches more than some of my friends & family members.

::whips head around:: Wait, who said that?

Hi Kim! Let me tell you, I almost FAINTED when you commented that you were also in the QCA. You’re the first of my local readers to “come out” … the rest remain anonymous, even though I’m DYING to know who they are! I would love to talk to people that I might actually have the chance to meet sometime!

Franco and Lola are adorable. Curtis and I were cracking up at the picture of Lola looking so menacingly out of the corner of her eye like someone’s gonna steal her cupcake. Fierce!

Love it! We always forget to celebrate our dog’s birthday, but I always remember the cat’s (probably because I put it in my calendar).

I don’t worry about it though. The dog gets table food every few weeks, so it’s like a continual celebration for him.

Lol, Lola’s expressions are so funny. And yes, I can totally see her being paranoid about losing birthday treats when you did, in fact, forget all about her. 🙂

Oh man they are adorable!!! And now I feel like a bad doggie Mommy as we don’t do the birthday thing anymore with the boys. =( They used to get a trip to the Happy Dog Bakery but that’s been many birthdays ago.
