Am I the only person who just realized that Valentine’s Day is on Saturday?
With a two-year-old, we didn’t really need to make a classroom’s worth of Valentines.
But, I did want to do something special with my little man. And when I asked him if he knew what we did on Valentine’s Day, he told me that we kiss.
So, I died of the cuteness and decided that we had to celebrate in some way.
Enter some Valentine’s easy enough that you can still finish them. They took us less than 20 minutes start to finish.
Here are the Valentine’s I cut and print for Henry. (magnifi-cent friend valentines)
Henry loves his magnifying glass and we bring it everywhere, so I thought these would be perfect. I found the magnifying glasses at Dollar Tree (6/$1). That’s a steal of a deal!
I wanted something with white space, which allowed him to draw pictures on each of them before I signed his name.
He was very proud of his cards for his friends. He carried around them all morning telling me who he would give them to. In addition to real people, he’s planning to give one to Curious George and Cranky the Crane.
While Henry was drawing, I whipped up a few Valentine’s Day shirts for the next few days.
The first is perfect for the boy who loves wearing sunglasses. (only have eyes for you phrase)

A note about making shirts for holidays:
When I make seasonal shirts that may not have the longevity of other kids apparel, I like to use shirts I already have that have small stains.
(Why do I even buy white shirts? They always get stained.)
The heat transfer masks any stains and I think that it’s easier to apply heat transfer material to shirts that have been washed. It’s a win-win.
So don’t get rid of those shirts with pesky stains. Those are the best for these projects!
